Allegra,

Big hugs!   I wish I lived closer so I could come over and give you a hand.

well, I may have had a minor break through.
This time was not so bad, she didn't vomit and I was able to hold her in the
bath, she still screamed and cried and resisted but not uncontrollably. She
has had 2 lots of panadol and Dimatap for the flu today and that seemed to
take the edge of the anxiety, That tells me that a medication that will have a
similar effect that she can take an hour before the bath might make it more
bearable. I am going to ask the doctor if I could potentially give her a dose
of dimatap before a bath, perhaps that would be better than a more serious
drug....
What do yall think?

I would ask the doc:)

I know many moms that give benadryl at night or during the day for hyperness or sleep issues~ It would be better than prozac if it works..probably less side effects.  I hope the visit goes well tomorrow and I am so glad you were able to give her a bath tonight..I would love to help you out too with her..she is an angel:) Best of luck!

I'm so glad It wasn't to Traumatic for you guys,Why is it ,Things never seam as bad as you say they are, when you are trying to show someone, ex..Video

God bless,Linda

Allegra - you are an inspiration to me as a mommy !!!I think the cough medication is a good idea - my mom gave me Benadryl each night before I went to bed ( to make me sleep )
I have another solution - each time you want to giver her a bath tell yourself that you are making a video for how awful it is - since kids NEVER cooperate with what we want them to do I bet she will be easier each time LOL- Just kidding

Just wondering is she like this with all water or just the bath...I was wondering if swimming lessons or even one of those little pools to play in or even just letting her play in the water in the kitchen sink might help her anxiety of the water?  If she does ok with that, move her into the tub with her swimsuit on and let her play a few times in there?  Just a thought.

Glad it went better though!  And good luck.

I hope this is the begining of a better bath time from now on.  I hope the doctor has a good plan for you.I'm glad it was a little better. Do you think it was just the cough syrup, or that you were able to hold her through it? Or does she usually not let you hold her she is so upset.  I would definitely ask about giving the over counter drug as opposed to something much stronger too if it works. Here's wishing it gets better and better for you both and that the doctor helps you with this. Does she see an OT? Can they help?

GOOD LUCK ALLEGRA!!!!!  I AM SENDING BIG HUGS FOR YOU AND SHARLET

MAYBE THIS TIME WILL BE BETTER

AFTER ALL YOU DO FOR US, I WISH WE COULD HELP YOU WITH THIS

Thinking of you and hope it wasnt too traumatic for both of you but honest enough for the doctor to realize the problem is real.

Best of luck and please update us:)

Take care!

Oh I feel so terrible for both of you. You are a WONDERFUL mommy to Sharlet. Here are a bunch of cyber hugs for you  {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}Well, I'm sending support and best wishes your way. I hope it's not too
traumatic for either of you.

I hope the Dr is motivated to help!Hi everyone,

Please send me luck and share some of your strength. I'm about to bath
Sharlet and film it for the doctor.

I know it's going to be bad and I don't know if I can handle it

Wishing you major strength, patience and love your way and....

 GIGANTIC

TO YOU & SHARLET:)

Good luck.  I'm pulling for you.My friend who has a daughter with severe autism (who is adorable) is
coming over to help me, she understands and is used to the anxiety stuff.
This will save my husband from helping as he really can't cope. Small
mercy's.Good luck Allegra. Bestrong. Hugs LizPlease let us know what the doctor says.  I'm glad it went better this time, tho it would have been good to be able to have a video of Sharlet at her worst.  But I'm sure the doc will believe what you say about the other times. HOpe he can come up with a medication.  OTC meds are not always the best and some are VERY strong.  Some docs DO recommend OTC drugs for certain reasons.  It's always best to get their input.Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as the last time.. Hope next time will be even better..
