search "potty" here and you'll get hundreds of helpful back posts.

My son had some sensory issues which affected his potty training.  For him, it was gravitational insecurity, and we solved it by letting him sit facing the tank, so he could hold on.  He gradually switched to sitting the normal way.

The Sensory Processing Disorder Companion (a free e-mail newsletter) devoted their last issue to potty training, and might be worthwhile for you to read:

Otherwise, I have lots of potty resources under this topic on our forum:

Good luck with everything.

major sensory issues? My son Leo will be 6 in November, he has a phobia of spiders and thinks that there are spiders in the bathroom all the time, he also has major sensory issues, were still trying to figure out how to help him. He has recieved OT, but so far we haven't had very good OT's. We've tried rewards, forcing him, letting him sit in his underware all day, he wont go at all if he is in underware, we've tried different toilet seats, I'm just becomming frustrated and feel like he will never get potty trained. He does not recieve ABA from the schools and it costs to much for me to hire someone.

I really need some suggestions
