LUCK in the world. My mom is difficult, too. I usually last about 48 hours
before she drives me completley to the edge.
She's nit picky, and not very understanding either. I'm good with my family it is when dh's mom comes to visit for weeks...uh oh...that's right around the corner. She comes into town for Christmas.

love her dearly & my kids love seeing her (she lives on the East coast, we
are in TX). But, she can be very critical & doesn't always get my priorities.
She did/does things her way...and anyone else's way just isn't good
enough. I know my a/c will be too high, she'll find a speck of dust
somewhere, an air freshener will bother her, I'm not wearing any or enogh
makeup...the list goes on. I hate that it's like that, but it always is.
She is supportive of us & loves my dd, but at times, she won't get that we
can't go run around all over the place or that dd may not give her a kiss
etc. It's not personal, it's autism!!! So, I hope that doesn't lead to any
issues. She also always tries to compare her life w/ kids, bringing me up,
to mine. One day, I'm going to snap...there is no comparison. I was
never sick like my dd, didn't have a feeding tube, and never had to deal
w/ IEPs, neuros, therapists, etc. I don't even know why she does it, and it
drives me nuts!!!
Her & my dh don't get along too well either, they always buck heads. My
mom is very critical of him, I think he reminds him of my father...and
there goes the whole can of worms (they are still unhappily married). Dh
is out of town for the first few days (yes, I planned mom's trip like that!
How bad is that??). So, hopefully all will go well.
Wow, feel better now that I vented. THANKS! Wish us all luck! Good luck!! I know how moms can be, mine can be the worst at times. I hope all goes well and keep us posted with results when its all over.

When I think of things like your visit, it almost seems good that my Mom is not cognizant enough to understand about T. I hate to say it but she would be making my life hell.
And, she even told me DH "looked too hard-headed." Before we got married. For what? For HER to go up against, of COURSE!
