turning 40 in JanuaryTurning 40 in a couple of weeks. Plan on sleeping...maybe...if allowed. Can I please? My 30th birthday, I received 6 dozen red roses (from my SO, my dad and brother), and partied all night. My 40th? My daughters made me a birthday cake with a tombstone on top, put black balloons and streamers all over the house, and we had pizza :) My birthday next month will be spent getting my son through a tonsillectomy I am turning 40 in May. I am not planning any special celebration, but I do plan to be 150 pounds or less! When I went running this morning I decided that by the time I turn 40 I want to NEVER see 151 or higher again.
I had a luncheon party at Hollywood Park Race Track with about a dozen friends and family. One of the races was named after me in honor of my birthday, and DH and I got to go down to the winners circle and have our picture taken. I love the race track, so it was a great party!
My 1st grandchild was dropped off on my doorstep a month before my 40th. (They never came back for her) She was 6 weeks old. I was so exhausted from taking care of an infant and working full time that I don't remember it. My baby was 15 at the time, so I was really out of the baby loop. I was probably sleeping. Celebrated 43 with #2 ( 2 months old) and 48 with #3. (4 days old) I'm planning on whooping it up for my 65th (Ethan will be 18 then) Unless, of course there are infant great-grandchildren Karolysgirl, I stayed a good fighting weght through my 40's but when I hit 50 last year, all he** broke loose. Menopause, metabolism, too many peanut butter cups I forget ... seriously! But ... that WAS ten years ago! EEEEH? what's that, sonny? And no idea how I will spend my 50th, yet. When I turned 50 a little of 10 years ago I went on a3 day curise with my mom. Why you may asked because my x wouldn't go. Now I'm 60 and I just went camping for my first time. A friend has a camper and it was alot of fun. The big bad woolf My sister arranged for a fabulous gourmet birthday cake to arrive at work at lunchtime, and my husband sent a big balloon bouquet. My office decorated with 40s everywhere and sang happy birthday and gave me a gift. I'm 44 now. When's your birthday? I'll be 40 in Jan, too! I'm going up in a hot air balloon, just because I've always wanted to. We had a huge Cinquo de Mayo party (bday is May 2) out in our backyard for about 60 people, but I made my husband swear not to tell anyone! I wanted people to come for fun and fun alone, and not feel compelled to get me something. It was great! We poured frozen margaritas into my punch bowl, but had it nestled into a giant number 5 washtub for that tacky effect. Had buckets of beer sitting around, too. Fun, very casual, and we got most of the food from a local restaurant so I wasn't slaving in the kitchen all day. Happy 40 early! Turning 40 on the 19 of Aug. I will be going out with about 24 friends and family.I turned 40 last January! the 15th. And I spent it in Disney too! LOL! I'd like to spend the 41 one there too!I'll be 36 this year. I don't do much celebrating on my birthday anymore. If I could pick somewhere to go I have no idea where it would be. There are too many places that I would love to see. Couldn't pick just one. Someone would have to plan the trip and surprise me because I am just that indecisive. I'm that way about a lot of things though.lol Karrie My co-workers decorated my desk with a huge black 40. And my mom and sister took me out to dinner My dh didn't do anything special. And unlike Paynes Mom, my youngest was only 2. Sorry I have been MIA......Thank you all for posting your ideas...I have enjoyed reading them... It's nice to know that I am not alone in turning 39 + 1...lol I will turn the magic number on Jan 12thI turned 40 almost 9 years ago. Since my birthday is March 27, it's too freakin cold to do anything fun around here. I had only been married 5 months at that time so we had just returned from Aruba, traveling was not in the cards. We went out with friends and I got sh*t faced drunk. Oh yeah, my wife bought me a new Harley for that Birthday, I recommend that to everyone. Surprises are great! For our 10th wedding anniversary, I told my husband we needed to go to my 20th high school reunion and that I'd already booked the air. He whimpered a bit but agreed, then secretly whined to all his co-workers for 3 months. They of course, knew the truth. When we got to the airport, his best friend and wife were waiting to get on a plane with us to go to Boston. We honeymooned there and in New England, so it was a nice return. Plus, I got us 4 baseball tickets for Fenway Park! He got all misty eyed! Start dropping hints to your families now! |
