Well, we are planning a vacation in the Smokey's this year. We will be staying in North Carolina and visiting Cherokee and Maggie Valley and Grandfather mountain and so forth. I have been researching the internet to see what all kinds of things we will be doing while we are there. Has anyone of you who have train lovers been to the Smokey Mountain Trains Museum? We thought we would take Daniel there and be prepared to watch trains for a while. He loves to go to the local hobby shop where they have a pretty sophisticated train set up, and his Dad takes him there sometimes just to watch the trains for a while so we thought this would be something he would enjoy. Let me know if anyway has been there.I hope you have a great time . It is absolutely beautiful up there . Sorry I can't help with giving you advice on the local tractions . The last ime I was up there was before my son was born so anything I would tell you would be dated to say the least. Hopefully someone on the board will have more current helpful information . Hope you enjoy your trip! The mtns are beautiful this time of the year. The weather has been nice.It still gets a little cool in the evenings.Lightning bugs are out by thr millions!
I know there is a Train the runs in NC and at dif times of the year they have dif things going on(at Christmas time they convert into the Polar Experss,around Halloween its a Murder mystery dinner and a show) Not to sure whats going on now but i'm sure it would be something fun to do.
Also not sure how your DS is with hot water but I have to make mention of Hot Springs NC its right outside of Maggie Valley and I swear by the effects the water has on your body! Its so relaxing and amazing. You should check it out too!
