My son did not like to take the nordic naturals so we switched to coromega
orange flavor packet which has about 230mgs of DHA. With the Nordic
Naturals as he took the childrens DHA 4ea and 2ea of the Omega 3-6-9 , I
think that the total DHA level was 215mgs. Our nutritionist recommended
the original dose of Nordic Naturals when he was 4. I do not know about the
dosage as it applys to Coromega.
I did not notice any change when we switched. My son is 5yrs old and
44lbs.
I'm wondering if anybody else has switched from another brand EFA to Coromega and had mixed results??? Adam is just turned three and had been taking Nordic Naturals DHA since he was about sixteen months old and I was always very happy. Then I ordered replacements online and they were very, very late coming so I decided to try Coromega while waiting because I've heard so many good things about it.
Wow!! Within 5 days his language skills just really started to impress us. He didn't gain any more words (he already had alot) but the way he used them and put them together really improved. He started asking beginning questions and using pronouns correctly.... we were just amazed and everybody noticed a difference. However, there have been negatives too....my always easygoing, compliant child all of a sudden is very anxious and clingy. At his afternoon camp he is tantruming and having meltdowns (which have rarely been an issue for him) and all of a sudden is incapable of transitioning from class to class. I find myself weighing whether the improvements in his language abilities are worth the behavioral problems that we have never experienced before.
Has anybody else experienced anything like this when they made a switch to Coromega? Or a switch from any EFA to another one, for that matter? Also, for those of you who use Coromega, how much do you give your child? Maybe I'm overdosing him and just not aware of it
