off/topic~septoplasty surgery anyone?? | Autism PDD

I also had that surgery about 15 years ago. Honestly, the recovery (tha
packing in the nose) was awful. I have to admit it...it was not pleasant. I
have also been on all the drugs you listed (I do have severe allergies).
However, the only thing that helps me now is the occasional course of
prednisone.

FYI, some of the allergy meds stay in your body for a long while. So, you
have had a false negative, depending on when you took your last dose of
medicine.

Oh, my husband has THOSE.  Looking at him and his aggravation, I am SURE it will be worth it for that.

(Have been trying to get him to get the sinoplasty or whatever it's called -- just sinuses, for YEARS!).  The man lives on antibiotics.

No snoring just repeated sinus infections!

I hear it is well worth it.  Shelley, do you snore or are apneic too?  Lots of people with a DS do.

I friend of mine had surgery after a chronic sinus problems. (I am not sure
ifff it is the same thing you had). She said the first week after surgery was
bad - unable to even get out of bed. But three month later she was so
glad she had done it. Sorry - all I can remember, I know it's kind of
vague.

Jessica & Faithishope: Did your symptoms go away? I have been on all of the following the last 3 years:

ect....nothing is helping along with antibiotics 5x and prednisone just since last October and I am still congested! I had the surgery done, but it was about 15 years ago.  It really was not a huge deal.  I added in a Rhinoplasy at the same time

I have had chronic sinus infections for years and just went last week to allergists to be tested for 72 allergens..I am not allergic to nothing!

SO she sent me to get a cat scan that shows septic spurs, bony abnormalities, haller cell?, and a deviated septum on my right side and referred me to a ENT surgeon..has anyone had surgery for these things??

I have been on endless meds and sprays for years and nothing helps..just curious on what to expect:)   It looks like they want to do surgery on me..will find out on wednesday but looking it all up now:) Yikes!

ShelleyR39289.6482638889My husband had that as a child and he says it did nothing. However, he was a child in the 1950's and '60's, so things might have changed since then. Good luck.
