So today just for fun we had the Autism specialist through the school district come take a peek at Nolan. He really is a totally different baby than Parker but of course my neurotic ass can't settle down about it. He is so young but she did some little tests on him and said his joint attention is amazing. He had great eye contact and smiled like crazy at her. the only thing he is lacking is imitation languge. Once again he is super young but we are going to watch that. She said that she can't say that he wont have ASD but that he looks "really" good :) I feel a small sigh of relieve. It's kinda fun to have all this early testing done to really see how a child developes. He is going to get looked at again at 9 months.
An update on parker, he is really taking off! He is still looking out of the corners of his eyes and stimming alot but otherwise looks and acts pretty NT. He has learned to count to 20 and is saying tons of new words. He still can't ask me when he needs something (like water or food) but we are working on that. He has verbal apraxia so his words sound a little funny but you can so tell what he is trying to say. All in all I feel happy today. We are still on the waiting list for Tefra and ABA therapy but should be starting full time plus pre school in september.

thats great news hayley! I have a 4 month old and of course im frantic about her development now as well. I think I wont feel 100% confident until shes 3 years old.
As for the language your son is acquiring, thats so great. How old is he?

Probiotics, eh? I was using them for constipation a few yrs back ... maybe I need to get her back on them!
I got the ones for kids that is flavored and in powder form so that I could just put it on their food or in their drink. Mine is banana flavor but my girlfriend has strawberry. Good luck, I hope it works.. I SWEAR BY IT!Thanks guys!!!
TKNY my son is 25 months. He went from practically non verbal to 50 words in 3 weeks. Normally I don't listen to when people post these miracle drugs but I started him on a probiotic (you can get at health food store) and within 2 weeks he was a different baby. My friend whose son is autistic tried it also and he took off too! i don't know if it is just a coencedence but it would be cool to see if anyone else saw a differnce using it. For me it was a miracle!
