I recently completed the inital and intermediate certification seminars at the connections center, there were a couple people from the chicago area...if you contact the connections center, they may be able to set you up with a consultant in training that is able to work with famlies. Good Luck!

Thanks - I saw that, but the people listed in IL are way far from where we live. I'm having trouble finding someone locally.
I have the same problem where I live. All of the specialists that deal with Autism, OT, Speech, RDI..etc. are all about 100-150 miles from me.
Most RDI consultants will work with families from a distance now. The RDI Connections Center is setting up an official secure video sharing center so that all families will have access to learning RDI. There are only ~150 certified RDI consultants in the world and a huge demand. RDI consultants, as part of their training, know how to work with families that are far away.
So I encourage your friend not to let distance stop her/him from pursuing RDI.
