Although I am still seething from my prior post, one thing that I must do is remain in the here and now.

I have a question. As you know my little guy is steady picking up weight from the Abilify and that is a concern for me because I am afraid of the health issues that come along with rapid weight gain; his psych and I have agreed to lower the dosage of the Abilify, instead of 7mgs, he will now take 5mgs and remain on the 100mgs of topomax.

I was thinking of introducing fish oil into his diet along with  melatonin. He sleeps great but he is up at the crack of dawn. Because he is up so early, he becomes restless and irritable during the day which contributes to his crankiness and obsession with food. He cannot, will not, out right refuses to take a nap during the day.

Would love to here from the experts out there, what you think and if you have any experience with trying this alternative.

We've given our son fish oil in phases (simply get out of the habit sometimes), and I've never found a significant behavior change connected to it.  However, since it's a healthy choice for both the heart and the brain, there's no reason not to take it.  It's good for us grown-ups, too.  Coromega is supposed to taste particularly good.  I have tried others that have a definite fish taste.  Check what's available to you in your local stores, and ask or do a search to see what other people here think about that brand.

I don't have experience with melatonin.
