Oh my dear sweet Karrie !!!!! my advice.... fire back some junk food and let's start doing those jumping jacks, if you want, just say the word and we'll do them with you!!! or have the hubby drive down some serverely bumpy roads. Hey, my midwife also told me that SEX is good for advancing labor!! Might be worth a try? 
Hey Karrie! All pregnancies, labors and deliveries ARE different, but try to think of it this way... its your body preparing and when you finally do go into labor.... I hope you dont have far to drive to get to the hospital because it just might go VERY QUICK! Hope its soon and Best Wishes! Keep us posted!C'MON LITTLE BABY!!! come out and join the world! its kinda neat out here!

Ok....I know that all the books say this and all the doctors but until this pregnancy I really didnt' believe it. LOL And if every pregnancy is different then that means every labor too..LOL This is what i am experiencing.....
Lost most of my mucus plug about 3 weeks ago. About a week ago I started having contractions...HARD ONES....that would start to get regular and then just stop. Last week I started dropping more of the mucus plug and it was stained. I thought for sure ...this is it!!! NOPE. lol I went to the doctor on Thursday and he said i'm dialated to 2 plus and 80% effaced so this gave me hope of some kind that it will be very soon....NOPE. My other 3 full term pregnancies i had braxton hicks contractions but not LABOR contractions like I'm having now until I actually went into labor. I have heard the horror stories of people being in labor for a week but I have to be honest here..I thought it was all crazy talk..LOL I thought that these people were just having braxton Hicks and mistaking them for labor contractions. I REALIZE NOW.....that it actually happens...LOL How can I have 3 children and still be so ignorant to labor??? LMAO I am frustrated, and exhausted!!!!! Every morning I am waking up around 5:30 with really bad contractions and then after a few hours they just stop. THen it happens in the middle of the day again for a few hours....then it stops...Then it happens again in the evening.......then it stops. I'm loosing sleep because if I lay down it is sure to start all over again..LOL I am so glad I still have a sense of humor about it all. Maybe if it continues like this then when it does actually happen I will be too exhausted to care about pain???? LOL NOT!!! I didn't just say that...I still need my drugs..!!!!

Karrie,My labor with Luke lasted for 3 days ... they finally induced me. I had no sleep for 2 whole nights be/c of the painful contractions! I'm sorry to hear that this baby is not wanting to come out yet ... I picture in my mind an infant holding onto the umbilical cord for dear life!

second, I lost the mucus plug 2 weeks before he was born ... and he was

Hang in there. I was the same. My labours were all long and painful, thank goodness for the drugs LOL. You know that eventually that baby has to come out. I will be thinking of you ( and thanking my lucky stars it's not me)

aaahhh the memories.... Prodromal Labor, isn't it lovely? I had it with all my kids. My first was over 2 weeks of this type of labor until I finnaly hit 4 cm and they augmented my labor, breaking my water didn't work and I would not suggest this. She was 4 weeks early. They really didn't want to deliver me LOL too bad! She was 5lbs 15 oz. and healthy! My second I did this for a month and finnaly hit 5 cm, I was also 5 weeks early with her. They also didn't want to deliver her but alas I won and they augmented my labor with her. She was 5lbs 8oz. and healthy also. With my third and last I did this from 26 weeks slowly enfacing and dialating with him until just 3 weeks before his due date I hit 5 cm, they were not afraid of him falling out since I seem to stop at 5 and go no further uuuggghhhh so they SENT ME HOME!!!! On monday morning after a very exhausting weekend of laboring even in my sleep! They were monatoring me from home. I was having heart problems I convinced them to do an amnio to make sure his lungs were ready, which they were and was induced and it still took 9 hrs. for him to be born! He was also 8lbs 11 oz. 3 weeks early!!!
(((((HUGS and good luck!))))) it may seem like the baby is takeing up residence forever but they have to come out sometime!

Funny you mentioned them holding on to the cord..LMAO...I often wondered if my children were special at this particular thing considering the first two of mine were 2 weeks late. LOL Also the sex we are doing...but it seems to just be keeping us occupied which is fine with me

I'm so glad this is in here if I ever get the insane idea to try for my little girl again I'll just read this thread.
KEEP BRINGING ON THOSE LABOR HORROR STORIES. Go for a long walk and then eat a big meal from some place with horible food. I did that with a couple of mine and then found out what I thought was bad indegestion was actually labor.
