OCD or an ASD thing? | Autism PDD

I *think* it's just an ASD thing. ASD does have a lot of OCD characteristics. The way I see it is if he isn't getting distressed that HE isn't putting it back in the right place, then it can't possible be OCD. As you know, everything has it's place and no matter who is putting it away, it has to be in that place. But someone else might have better insight.. Recently my son Leo has been very possesive of things in the house and outside. For example he feels or thinks everything is his and if his sister or I touch or move anything he gets extremly upset and has to have it moved back to the position or place it was at. He will cry and yell and I need to put it back right away. I'm not sure if he needs control over his environment because of all the recent changes, or if this is a sign of OCD? I suffer from it and sometimes I wonder if he's picked up on my OCD behaviors or if this is just something else. All I know it's driving us all nuts, any suggestions or comments will be appreciated

I think it is an ASD thing also.  To have OCD you have to have obsessions and compulsions both.  For instance My sister with OCD cleans her house to "FEEL SAFE"  Other things she does is to keep from "bad things happening" etc.

Sometimes people with OCD don't remember exactly why they do the  things they do but it DID start with something and it's usually to prevent certain things from happening.
