Talent Show | Autism PDD

wow how cute!! aren't kids amazing! That must have been darling. It is tough to perform in front of lots of
people regardless if you are nt or asd. Good for your daughter that she did
so well. It is indeed quite an accomplishment. That is great!

That's wonderful.  It reminds me of this article I read while I was on vacation, about a kid with Down syndrome who wanted to be in the school talent show.  The mom arranged a talent-show birthday party as practice, and both the party and the school talent show were a big success.

Here's a link to the article, for anyone who's interested:

I just wanted to share. My dd (age 6 ASD) has been going to a regular day camp this summer. She has two (nt twins) buddies there that she talks into all kinds of things. She talked them into the talent show last week. The girls approached me the day before the talent show and said .."we haven't practiced yet and the talent show is tommorrow..they picked a song that none of them knew the words to). I talked them into performing their song and dance from May Day (they are in the same class at school). They did so well at the talent show that they were asked to perform at the ending Luau last night. Those three girls (all age 6) got up and danced and sang infront of over 300 people.  They weren't nervous and did a great job. It was hysterical because my dd is NOT an Aspie and she has terrible articulation..so they put the microphone in front of her..no, she actually positioned herself infront of the microphone. They then went on to dance with the rest of their group later on and did amazingly well.  My dd has come such a long way!

Aloha, Renee
