Returning Member | Autism PDD

Hi! I am a returning member, it has been a while so I am not sure if anyone remembers me. I use to go by piratesmom, but I was less creative this time and just used my name. Besides I don't have time to be a pirate any more, only once a year ( long story I will tell you about another time)

I am married (7 years) to my best friend and have teo wonder children. A son - 5 years and a daughter 3 years. My daughter has not been officiall y diagnosed with anything, however she has been in speech, OT, and ABA for a year and a half. She now has two and sometimes 3 wrong spontaneous mands (requests) and she can repeat anything you tell her to which is fun. She just memorized Brown Bear - which is the cutest ( I need to video that) My son is most NT however he does exhibit sensory issues and has learned a few attention getting tactics from his sister. We are currently focues on fixing that.

I am currently enrolled in a certification program to become a BCBA, I feel in love with this type of therapy watching what it has done for my daugher and decided to help others as well.

There is a lot more, but I think that is enough for starters. I look forward to getting to know you guys (again)

welcome back rachael!!!!

Howdy:) Welcome back..I have a almost 7 year old daughter..we did ABA for 3 years and had 3 BCBA's all together~most started out as our therapists:)

It is a very rewarding career:) Good luck!

Welcome back!

I work with a precious little girl who has autism, she's my inspiration, and I also make jewelry for moms with their childrens' names. I give you lots of props for going back to school, it's probably challenging to get it all done along with caring for your kids ... you must feel like you don't have a second to breathe! I know how it is to see something working and to want to help. You're doing a good thing!

Warmly,
Colleen
