Thats Awesome!!!  We have a starbucks here on post where I live.  It's right next to a park that was built especially for people with special needs to include wheel chair access etc.  THey just put in a splash pad this summer that we are looking forward to going to soon.  SO when we do...I'll be sure to go to the Starbucks and get a venti size drink!!!

I received the following press release from Autism Speaks:

http://www.autismspeaks.org/inthenews/starbucks_cup.php

Starbucks is now featuring special autism awareness cups as part of its “The Way I See It” program. The cups feature a message from Autism Speaks founder Bob Wright urging parents to learn the signs of autism and act early if they suspect their child is experiencing a developmental delay. The message appears on “venti” hot cups. The first one was spotted at a Starbucks on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, just two blocks from the Autism Speaks Los Angeles office. Look for it to appear in your local Starbucks soon.

The cup says:
Every 20 minutes – less time than it will take you to drink your coffee – another child is diagnosed with autism. It's much more common than people think, with 1 out of every 150 children diagnosed. Learn the early warning signs of autism and if you're concerned about your child's development, talk to your doctor. Early intervention could make a big difference in your child's future.

Stop in your local Starbucks, order your favorite venti-sized hot drink and thank a Starbucks employee for all they are doing to raise awareness!

talk about combining my two passions! I think that is a great thing they are doing. But here in Canada i was brought up on Tim Horton's.But I'm happy with what they are doing Can Starbucks get any better!!! Not only do they provide us with the "stuff" to keep us going, now they are advocating for our children!!!!  Thanks for posting this. My dh and I LOVE Starbucks!! I saw a show on TV about the founder of Starbucks, He grew up very poor, his Father had medical problems and no insurance even though he worked full time, they had nothing after his Father could not work anymore. Every employee at Starbucks is offered insurance even if they are part timers. Wonderful man to work for. I think this is great awareness for Autism.

Wow.  Interesting stuff about the Starbuck's founder.  Thanks for sharing!

Well, at least now I have another excuse to buy a venti coffee, lol.  (Ha!  As if I need one, lol)
