ROTTEN BIRTHDAY | Autism PDD

Share

Yes, I know what it's like.  I've gotten a little more tough-skinned over the years, and the meltdowns come less often, but the crying and screaming just makes  food taste like ashes in my mouth and drains my energy.

I'm sorry you had a lousy birthday, and hope the coming year will be a happy and fulfilling one.

Happy Birthday Linda, I think your right, it sounds like the fair was to much for him. Can you have another Birthday dinner tonight or go out for lunch. I know how it feels to have a Birthday, or a Holiday not be what I've planned because of tantrum. For a while every special day my DH and I planned turned out this way, that was when my son was young, he has gotten a lot better. I would do it all over again today without the fair.  Happy 45.

It was my 45 Birthday yesterday, the first part was OK,but my ds tantrumed and screamed from 4 pm on he ruined my supper I was so upset I didn't eat anything and cryed most of the night,I didn't even have cake.

My Oldest son is home, he took ds to a local fair, with rides and games in the afternoon,I guess it was to much stimulation for him.

He gets sooo mean and nasty,And of course dh is pissed off because of ds's behaviour, so he is cranky as well.

I was soo sad and exhausted last night  I went to bed at 9 pm

I don't know what the point of this post is , Just a VENT I guess,Most people on this board know what I'm going through,Thanks for being here...

Linda

Sorry about your rotten birthday.

I completely stopped celebrating/acknowledging mine about 10 years ago.  Now I'm never disappointed.

Happy Birthday, Sorry it was so lousy. Give yourself a treat as soon as you get the chance. That's the nice thing about birthdays, there will be more.. sooner than we like

Happy Birthday Linda! (same as my sisters b/day)

I agree with the folks above..treat yourself nicely:)

Let dh make it up someday when the time is right:)

I am right behind you in age..44 in 2 months:P

There will plenty other birthdays! In meantime... buy you something pretty:)

My birthdays have been really awful lately. For the past few years. I didn't even feel like celebrating this year because I was really depressed - I am so sorry about your birthday! Maybe you can "re-do" your birthday on another day and you and DH can go out for a date? I am going to make my next birthday a really great one, probably even throw a get together which I have not done in YEARS. I need a good birthday too!I always think all my kids will be good because it's my special day. Well, someone always does something, so I learned from it, and if I want to do something, or do nothing--I get a babysitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I TOO AM SORRY YOUR BIRTHDAY WAS BAD..GET YOURSELF SOMETHING...YOU DESERVE IT...REALLY!

with love,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Karrie

I believe a rain check is in order!  Do it over again, minus the cake, and set up a wonderful day...maybe date night with DH.

I'm sorry the first round stunk.

Time to go get yourself a birthday present!!

Happy Birthday! I'm sorry the day was so rough, but it really isn't too late to
ask for a re-do!

Happy Birthday!  Hope you get some cake on a calmer day!  I stopped acknowledging my birthdays too (like NYMommy) but Christmas is much harder to ignore!  Gotta say I dread the "performance" days like Christmas and Easter the most.

Happy Birthday...Week!!!  I hope you're feeling better because I have an idea for you!  If you make your birthday into a weekend, or even better yet, a whole week, then you've got 2 to 6 other days to celebrate!

My Dad was a pro at this and very entertaining with it too!  He was born near Labor Day, sometimes his birthday fell on Labor Day.  He really loved his birthday.  When he was growing up there weren't any presents or a birthday cake because his parents were Italian immigrants and poor.  But we always had a family celebration, and if any friends came, it made it even better!  He would say things like, "You have to behave, it's my birthday!"...then later, "...birthday WEEK!"  It was funny and like a joke, but it was real too!

My birthday is the day before Halloween, so we never celebrated on the actual day, and sometimes the "celebration" spanned some extra days...

My brother was born right after Thanksgiving, so he benefits from the idea too!  But Dad topped us all...

Now I know this isn't the same as the current situation and the challenges of a special needs child, but somehow, my birthday getting messed up (or Mother's Day, or whatever...) doesn't bug me so much when I think of it as my "week" and I remember my Dad...which makes me smile...

Blessings and big hugs

My best friend called me today at around 10 ,She invited us all to a pool party and Barbecue for my birthday,My dh just started his two week vacation today and everyone was in a better mood,The boys were played out from swimming and are in bed now ,and its only 8:45,now its My time.MMMM...
