Thanks for sharing this. I want to remind everyone that respite is not a selfish act.
Besides lowering our personal stress level as caregivers, respite care can be an important step in helping our children gain age-appropriate independence from us.
It can also simply be a fun activity -- an alternative to the outings and classes that NT kids participate in but our kids struggle with.

I came across a much needed resource that some of you might need. RESPITE---a much needed break and rest. This is a great service provided so many times throughout the year and some insurances will cover it especially MEDICAID. Please check it out and apply for it as all caregivers of special differently- abled individuals need a break.
