Summer resources | Autism PDD

I thought I'd try and gather all the summer resources in one spot, even though it's late in the season.  Web addresses sometimes end up with blank spaces with them, so if a link doesn't work, try removing the blank spaces.  If it still doesn't work, let me know and I will fix it.

http://www.positivelyautism.com/volume2issue4/ - 3 articles.  Bubel/Aiken summer inclusion programs, ""Your Child's Summer Program Options", and "Selecting a Camp for Your Child."

YAY!!! I cant wait for it to arrive.

Awsome resources norway, as usuall. I did the camp thing back in the day, even got special privlages cause I was the biggest kid in the park, so I got to dominate all sporting events which was fun. Heh, anyways I particularly enjoyed canoeing and even helped teach other kids how to do it back in the day since I was a kinda executive camper, still being supervised like the rest of the kids but got treated almost like an adult and had the best of both worlds, the kids liked me and so didnt the counselors cause they did not have to worry about me so much.

Because I used to help teach canoeing I just had to read the canoe story to see what they had put in their, indeed, safety is number 1 and they covered all that, but I can imagine the more complex manuevers and rescue and all is more difficult to illistrate. I suppose thats why at my camp we did not let kids younger then 8 in the canoes because some manuevers like the canoe rescue requires skill and strength.

Ahhhh, camp really does wonders for kids, I made many friends their, and if only I could go back again, heh.

I got 13 hits for Washington in the category Camps and Recreation at the following free online directory for autism services:

Good luck!

I was looking at some of your web sites and am completely frustrated that there seems to be no camps in Washington State. You have great resources, got any leads on this one?
