Strange Comments | Autism PDD

Do any of you have older kids say strange things? My son is 12 and just the other day he told me, (I see people that aren't there) He said he saw a man walking down our street, and there was not a man walking down our private drive, he described him to me, and last week when I was putting him to bed he asked me "who is that" The room was dark and my DH was out of town for work, so it did freak me out a little. I am a little worried about this. I kinda just thought he was having a hard time with his dad being gone?My Dh said he told him the same thing a couple months ago.

On the subject of seeing things.....

There was a time when my son wasn't quite 2, he was in his high chair playing with some lego's while I was doing dishes. I noticed that he kept  looking at  the corner, next to where the washing machine was, and waving. I finally asked him what he was waving  at and he smiled and just said "The lady" , so of course I asked him what lady and he said "The lady with the yellow hair". Not too sure what that was all about!

My son's "I used to fly one of these before I was born" comment has made me wonder about  his love for anything WWI and WWII, and his knowledge of the planes they flew back then. It's uncanny what he knows in relation to those. Now, I'm not a reincarnation guru or anything, but sometimes things he said as a small child, just kind of made you go "hmmm" for a minute.

Indigo Children! LOL.

I had a friend when when I was little who said, "When I was in College, ... "

now, reading this entire forum, I have been thinking of him a lot!!!  I bet he is an engineer or something techie, somewhere ...

My ds used to refer to the time before his birth as "When I was just a
thought in the universe". And yesterday he was handing me a little part of
his fingernail. When I asked him what it was (before realizing it was a
fingernail) he said very matter of fact "Just some of my dna in case you
have to clone me'
Strange indeed

Oh wow! My ds still says stuff like that! And he will often "read my mind" and talk about something completely out of the blue that had just popped into my head.

He occasionally talks about remembering coming down from heaven before he was in my tummy... It hasn't freaked me out yet because I think he is just making it up - I guess you never know!

At least I now know that I am not alone in this. My son does the exact same things and ALWAYS leaves me wondering "Did I say that out loud?", due to the fact that there was no way that he was reading my mind, at least I don't think there is a way he is doing it.

But then again, he is very good at reading my facial expressions, so maybe thats it.

Who knows...

My mom and I were talking today, and we were discussing some of the strange things, my brother and I used to say and do as kids, as well as some of the strange things my own kids have said and done. My younger brother came in from work about that time and reminded me of something my son said years ago when he was about three. It was something that I hadn't thought about in years, but at the time, it made us all go "whaaat?"........

My brother is a huge Star Wars freak and had gotten some of his old star wars toys out for my son to play with. It was some sort of flying thing from the old Star Wars movies.  He was pretending he was flying it, moving it all around with his hands, making zoom and missle noises , and he looked  right at us and said "I used to fly one of these when I was old before I was born. "

Do any of your kids ever say anything kind of off and strange like that?

Yes, I do remember my sons saying strange stuff like that when they were VERY young...." I used to do that before I was born and lived with you".....

Those young little brains are a HUGE mystery.....I'd love to know what really is going on in them.....

The other odd thing they would do.....was almost like ESP.....I swear I'd be thinking of making pudding for dessert when out of the blue my son would ask me for some pudding......did he read my mind ?  Or did I read his ?  LOL

What's the stat....we only know what 20 % of our brain does....we are unsure what the remaining 80 % does....who knows.......

My 9 yr old NT DS is like this!  He used to do some creepy things when he was really young!  More along the lines of being able to see things that we can't see!

I remember the worst one was one day I was loading the dishwasher and he walked into the kitchen, I think he was around 4 at the time, and I hear him say "stop doing that."  I turn around and he is alone...I asked him who he was talking to and he tells me the man over there is pulling on my shirt!  I immediately freak out and tell him to show me which man.  He points to a spot in the kitchen of course there is noone there.  He says he was there but he just went down.  I was so freaked out that I took the kids to a friend's house for the rest of the day, until my DH got home from work!

He used to tell me too that he never had bad dreams because the man in the black hat told him what to dream!

He would tell me all the time about different things and I would say where did you learn that, because he wasn't in school yet and he would tell me about different friends that he had that would tell him this stuff...I would try to write it off as a big imagination and Logan is very smart and I figured he just picked it up somewhere.  But I still to this day wonder how many of those "friends" he could actually see!

He doesn't talk about that creepy kind of stuff nearly as much as he used to, but I still feel like sometimes that boy can read my mind!  I swear his b-day and x-mas presents are never a surprise to him because as soon as I think I come up with a good idea, he starts talking about what I was thinking!
