Hi everyone I just wanted to tell you about a book that we bought for Nick it is wonderful and has helped him sooo much he loves to have it read to him and begs us to sit and read it to him....this is a child who has NEVER sat through a book!! This book is written by a mother who has an autistic son so it is designed for kids on the spectrum. It is called Party Train and is written by Leslie Mitchell I ordered it through different roads to learning . The website is on the thread for newbies. My son has even started reading along with me (some of it is from memory). Here is a little of how it is written: This time let's add a car and an animal to our train. Are you ready? Say, "I want car and animal!"Good talking ! Now we have a yellow car and a red dinosaur.
so the point of the book is to get the child to say the things he wants to happen with the train and the animals and when they say aloud what they want you prompt them and tell them nice talking or you did it! Now Nick is prompting me all the time
Nita wow that sounds awesome Nita...I'll go check that out...my Nick isn't a huge book guy, he's getting better, he still loves his big picture books w/ the flips but not really a story guy I guess, maybe this will help get him to be one LOL...thanks hon! hugs, ali Thanks so much for the website, I was trying to find it the other day, the book looks great. Thanks again
