Question about Disability Benefits | Autism PDD

I am so new to all this....if my 2 yr old dd was dx'ed with Autism, is it possible we could qualify for SSI benefits (money) even if our income is not low?  (we dont qualify for Medicare).  Thanks for any info.  JETTAGIRL39281.4655208333

I'd like to echo Matty's statement about applying.  Even if it's not much SSI, Medicaid makes a big difference for us...so long as the provider is in the network, they'll cover all kinds of therapies.  I don't know how much yet, I'm still looking into it, but at least I can get something more than just what he's getting through the school district.

Apply!  :)

Thankyou very much for the info.  I will search this forum for more SSI info.  It would be so great if we could get some help with therapies, as we dont have health insurance basically (high ded).

It's worth applying even if he'll only get very little due to your family's income.  If he qualifies for SSI, he'll automatically get medicaid which might cover some things that your current insurance does not.  Just want to add that you can search SSI on this forum and you'll get lots of info.  Matty39281.4798263889
