Woke super early today, so I have a bit of time to come here. Yesterday I spent 4.5 HOURS just getting INTO the City. I was already on the train when the skies opened up at there was a Noah-sized flood! The tracks were submerged, so all the electric trains couldn't make contact with the 3rd rail, which is where they get their power. I was on a diesel, but we were stuck behind 6 electric trains that couldn't move. I left my house at 7:10 and got to the office at 11:30! Fortunately, the trip home at the end of the day took only the usual 2.5 hours. I'll be doing this until the middle of next week. AFter that, the usual assistant will be back from vacation and I can go back to once or twice a week. I am obligated to put in 115 hours of practicum time, and I'm now up to 65 hours. So far, it's not been the best experience for me, but this intense week is forcing my advisor to give me more and better assignments. You can imagine how burnt up I've been to be commuting 5 hours, minimum, each day at the cost of at least per day to go in and do filing! Finally, I've got some actual assignments. When this 10 days of intensity is over, I'll be closing in on the end of this nightmare. Hopefully, I'll be done by the end of the summer. Thanks for letting me vent.
I'm sorry to hear that they've been wasting your talents on filing! Hope the commute goes easier the rest of the week.Turns out my practicum advisor wants me in every day and it's a 5 hour commute round trip, so I won't have a second of time to come here. Just didn't want anyone to worry. SHould be back on the weekend at some point.Have a good week! We'll miss you.
