what does hand flapping look like?I found it http://www.autism-pdd.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=17516&am p;KW=hope2 Thanks, i looked up the video. Thats just something i was curious about. I remember as a kid my cousin whos autistic did something like that. I dont think my son does that, he rocks his head in a ticking motion to the right and has to rub my elbow thru out the day here and there tho he hardly been doing it lately. Is that a way of stimming?? Also i have a question i think and sons neuro thinks my husband has some form of asd altho hes not diagnosed or anything but he constantly walks back and forth pacing aaaall the time and seems deep in thought and wont answer alot if u try to talk to him alot of the times as hes pacing slowly back and forth hes hugging himself tightly covering his chest which he hates being touched or wind blowing on it, ive asked him what hes doing he says 'i dont know' and stops but always ends up doing it again is that stimming too (if he does happen to have asd)? My husband is 31 and has done this ever since ive known him. Thanks guys im new to all this and still trying to figure out what all this stuff means!Hayden all of that sounds like stimming to me. I notice I will wave my hands occassionally...like you would shoo a fly, but for no reason. I also flick my fingers. I do this without noticing until after it is done. I do not know why I do it. Ali flaps her arms and claps for no reason a lot. When she does the clapping she also makes a weird squeal sound. |
