Camp is so wonderful for our kids! Glad to see they had a good first day. My son's first day of camp was today also, but its overnight. He was so excited that he kept waking up during the night. My hub and I are excited too.....I'm enjoying the peace and sitting back taking it easy!!! I stay at home so this is major for me and I know too it will be hard to find out what they did. The staff will let me know so that's good. Fred, I hope the girls have a good rest of the week!
Take care and enjoy your free time!!!!

Fred -- I think others have said this but the lack of communication about what happens when we are not with them has DRIVEN ME NUTS!
T is getting better about this, but it is in her IEP for this fall that we will get a DAILY report form! Hoenstly, I think that was the one most hellish thing about her kindergarten year.
Awesome news Fred!
It's camp day 1 here too, but the boys go from 9 - 4 so I won't hear how it went until I get home from work.
That sounds great! I'm planning on doing something like that at the YMCA next summer. This summer we had company for most of it. I'm glad it went well! Wanting to go back is the best sign. My kids can tell me nothing at all about their day. I'm just starting to see awareness that they vaguely understand what I am talking about when I ask them about it, even if I was with them.Woo Hoo!...seems to have gone pretty well. The girls went to 'kindercamp' for 4-5 year olds and my son went to soccer camp. Camps were at the YMCA and went from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Their mother instructed the lead counseler woman to give the girls a 5 minute verbal warning during transitions and to make sure that they have their attention (establish eye contact) when providing them with direct instruction. Other than that, they were left to their own devices to sink or swim.
They reportedly did fine! The counseler said that she implemented the transition warnings and the girls transitioned with no problems. They got 'beads' as rewards for displaying some positive behaviors and Abigail got three beads - one for 'respect', one for 'responsibility' and one for attempting the climbing wall. Evie got two - one for 'respect' and one for attempting the climbing wall.
Evie said she made a friend named 'Alex' (who's "not a boy - she's is a girl"). Abigail said that she made "so many friends" :)
I wish they could tell me more about what went on, but the details are very sketchy - they still can't tell us much about their days, but we can pull the major events out of them with some prompting. They were happy, though, and eager to go back tommorrow.
DS also had a good day.
YAY Abbie and Evie!!!!!!!
Sure does take a load off when they are requesting to go back, doesn't it??
I'm so happy for them and that they enjoyed themselves!
