Good for you....and Alec.

I am in a similar situation.  DH works nights and I work days.  Therapies and half day school will be on our horizon at the end of August. I, too worry about the scheduling, as I have three other children.

I will keep my eye on your progress and will more than liekly be exhausted with you!

Good luck!

Hello,

I am new here. Kiana (4 yo/autism) just started with her medical assistance therapies as well. We did not get speech but we got an MT and a TSS. The MT does something called "play therapy". I was wondering if anyone knows the benefits of intensive, private speech therapy. Kiki only gets 30 minutes a week at school and I dont think it is enough. Unfortunately I do not know if they will pay for more therapy.

Congratulations susan, on you and Alec's progress!

My son just got funding for IBI - the same play therapy. So far behaviours have improved. He's eating with a fork, he's seeking out more 1+1 attention, He's using more words, etc. This play therapy IBI has elements of speech inside of it. They model the appropriate verbage. Cool! Hope he has fun!Alec is finally starting his additional OT and speech therapy tomorrow...yay
