Hello everyone it has been a long time since I have been on to post or answer any questions . here is the deal for the past 7-8 yrs I have been dealing with my son Chris' different disabilities and for the past 6 been dealing with my severe anemia , iron deficiency thought all was good i would get up at 5:15 AM to start getting him ready for school by 7:30 I was home mopping ,vacuuming , washing clothes ,dishes you know the every day chores well me not having insurance i would do the best i could and just keep going even though i am 43 and felt 86 and not tooting my own horn would not complain well finally i was able to apply for medicaid and as soon as i got it made an appt. to see a MD. went june14 i think so I saw the Dr. who was covering for now my DR. told him about my anemia ,iron and asthma this was on a Thurs. so I called the following Monday for my blood results no one called back so i did this till Thurs. still no call back well Thurs night i had to lean against the wall of the shower to bath and that tasks took 30 min. so fri.morning as Chris played on the computer i told him Chris mom is real tired i need to nap in here with you you shake moms toes in an hr. and i will get up well he did but as i talked to him i would drop back off and my words would slur together finally Chris got up came over to me and started shaking me till i finally was able to raise up he even helped me to the phone where i called my sister in law and said something is wrong come now she called the Dr. and he told her to bring me to the office so she did . my hemoglobin(blood count is supposed to be 15 ) mine was 6 my fever was 104.6 he listened to my back and said asthmatic bronchitis take her through the ER for x rays i really thought i was worn out from always going the second thing the Dr. said was i am not trying to scare you but this is how sick you are (who is your mortician) by the time i got to the hosp. 5 min. away my blood dropped from 6 to5 and they automatically admitted me the 22nd of June the night mt B/P got as low as 58/48 now I am at home resting and waiting to be atmitted again for a hysterectomy they say it's called internal bleeding the doctor asked why i went so long with out seeking help i looked him in the eye and replied we are poor social services said my husband made 3 dollars too much for me to qualify the OBGYN said well now we're going to take advantage of this while we can when i went for my follow up the Dr. said you know your son saved your life if he would not have woke you that good you would not be here he is truly my hero
soory if it any words are misspelled just a mom
YOU HAVE A REAL HERO in your arms....
Also, please, in the future, listen to your body...There is nothing more important in life than your health...physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual...Never allow yourself to be treated as a number, a diagnosis, an "uninsured patient"...There is always a way...The squeaky wheel DOES get the oil... And there ARE doctors who look past everything else and see YOU, a person in need of their healing skills, and they don't give a blankity-blank about anything else (I was one of them before being "just" a SAHM!)... Blessings! What an angel! I hope you feel better real soon! I get a fever of 99 and want to die..you poor baby! Take care of yourself:)
just a mom Thank you all
You really have a hero there! I can imagine how proud you are! Take care and yes....REST!
I know how you felt...I have several health problems that I have kinda let go because doctors seemed apathetic and my sister is very, very ill right now and no one is helping her. She cannot leave the house other than for doctor appointments. She has a new baby that she cannot fully enjoy because of her symptoms and doctors just shuffle her on to some other doctor, dismiss her complaints, or tell her to wait it out and see if she gets better.....it is horrible! Anyway, thank you for sharing your beautiful story! May God bless you and your son! I pray you get the care you deserve now.
Wow! Bravo to your son, your HERO!
