shots | Autism PDD

Ali is supposed to get her 4 year old shots....I am scared to death....but I feel like I have no choice.  The Dr's office basically told me I would be abad parent not to get her shots....and her school is saying she HAS to have them.  I would advocate going with your GUT feeling -wait if you want to -what could it hurt to wait?

Autumn,

Is there anything I can do to get Ali to be allowed into school without the shots?  Can I ask for an extension?  You seem knowledgeable.

Also, do you or anyone know the Dr's office (after saying it would be absolutely horrible to do) said that they can give shots individually but you have to wait at least 6 weeks in between each.  Why is it that they give 5 at once but when spreading them out you cannot do them any sooner than one every 6 weeks?

Sharlet has a medical exemption, I'm not willing to put her body through
it and risk her loosing skills that have taken so much work to build.

She will never have any more needles, unless she decides to have them
when she is older.

I agree, go with your gut. I'm not sure if it's the same where you are but
here schools are fine with it if you have a good reason(such as an
exemption), it just means that if there is an outbreak of something, my
child will have to stay home for a period of time.

Good Luck, and I say that you have the right to not do it, you and your
child are the ones that will have to go with the consequences, which could
be regression if you go through with it, or an illness if you don't.
Not the doctor or anyone else. Don't be bullied into anything.

Good Luck and take care. Its time for Damians 5 year shots and im scared he has made so many improvements and im so worried he may regress what do you think'

You can go to your Public Health Department and sing a form for EXEMPTION - you can use 'medical'  'religious' whatever you want to - they will accept it and do not let them give you a hard time! GOOD LUCK!

If your child has gotton that type of shot before, did he have a reaction? I think I would feel ok if it was one he had before, but like autumn said, sometimes you just go with your gut. Never let a doc or school bully you into anything.Ali has had the shots they are reccomending before...and she did regress in her behaviors, got a high fever for a few days, and was lethargic for about a week after.  In addition to this, I am worried because I never knew what all was in the shots until now and I never knew there were people the government recognized as being injured or having died resultant of the vaccines.

I felt okay with it, too, but when Jase had shots on Monday, by yesterday, he'd developed an allergic reaction, which has NEVER happened before, with him or any of my other children.  His doc says there shouldn't be a problem with shots in the future, but I may hold off myself.  Go with your gut, and try not to let yourself get backed into a corner, though I know it's hard.

Thats how his doctors were, but i have said so many time he was advanced on all his milestones until he was one and got his shots, thats when everything stopped. His first eval for school he was 3yrs 4months and tested on a 13 to 15 month age, Its been almost 4 yrs since he has had shots and has really came around, i fear so much if I get them that he will regress or stop progressing his ped feels i do have a good point but that he still needs them i dont see how she feels that way. if you agree then why put it back in him. and now im scared to allow my younger two to have thier shots

When I started reading like a madwoman in the last month or so about the vaccinations, VAERS, and started inquiring at Ali's dr's office, I was shocked at what I found.  It outraged me that the doctor never tried to give me more of an education as to what was in the shots or the possible risks and that the dr's office was almost angered by my asking questions.  Whether or not something is required or highly recommended, I think parents have the right to be well-informed.  I do know that when I have another child, there is NO WAY I would even think of getting him/her shots before 1 year of age.  Many of the children who have died shortly after a vaccination have been under a year old (Vaers).

Mikey's DPT/Polio shots are due. I am not against shots since we are starting to find out Mikey does have a weaker immune system due to the many allergies he has. Although its stated that thimerosal has been removed in all children's vaccines, they still exist in the influenza, tetanus and diphtheria vaccine for children 7 years of age and older and adults.Until I see the results of the metal toxicity test we have done for mercury and other heavy metals, I am holding back all shots as well.
