im asking anyone who has videos of the children to pls post, my husband and I are really disagreeing about damian even though he has a dx he believes because he is talking more he is fine, but if he would listen to him talk he is completeing repeating a conversation he has heard or something i have said if it is something he isnt suppose to do we dont havve great docs areound here and his school classified him as EMH, but I can see his improvements yet at the same time he is still doing the same things just now he talks. will language really change everything.

I have posted videos from time to time. Here're the girls at age 4 years, nine months, just being themselves. They have autistic disorder of a mild-moderate severity (really more towards the mild end of things, but they are not 'edge case' kids). They have pretty good functional language for kids with autistic disorder. Here's the clips:

To answer your trailing question, in my opinion, language changes many things for the better (fewer tantrums, easier teaching, more opportunities for social exchanges, better play, etc.), but also introduces new issues into the mix. One of the frustrating things about autistic disorder is that, once functional language is established, you soon realize that there's a lot more than just a speach delay going on...
