Hi everybody:
My name is Craig Neilan and I co-write a blog on GiveBackAmeica.org. We recently featured "Autism Awareness" and a charity called Foundation for Autism Research and Remediation (FARR) on our current blog. FARR is a charity that GiveBackAmerica.org promoted and supported financially.
We received a huge uproar from a segment of the autistic community telling us that they loved the idea of our online charity shopping mall but couldn't support it because they couldn't support FARR. These Autistic Bloggers did an AMAZING job educating me on a term called "Neurodiversity" and showing me the differing views on how autism should be handled in our community. As a result of their efforts and advice, I was put in touch with The Autism Acceptance Project (TAAP). They believe in neurodiversity, which Wikipedia defines as "an idea
Now GiveBackAmerica.org helps give financial assistance to both FARR and TAAP!
Please tells me your views on these differing opinions. I would welcome any members of this forum to write a guest blog on our site and help further educate myself and my loyal readers.
