*guilt****

you are all great! And you are right! I know it, but it makes me feel sooo much better to have all of YOU say it, because you have been their and ARE here!!THanks!!!!!!! Ds DID take his nap!!!!!

If you are like me I "take a break" during the most expensive therapy that insurance will not cover!!!

Don't feel bad or guilty...we all do it & we all NEED it!!! I know our dd has
needed breaks, as have I. When she was 1-2 yrs old, I used to feel guilty if I
missed one session, or didn't do stuff at home. Now, I've let myself off the
hook, I'm only human...AND I've come to think that the regular times w/ dd
are just (if not more) valuable & important as therapy sessions & activities. I
was starting to burn out, & it wasn't good for either of my children.

So glad ds took a nap...hopefully you were able to have some R&R time too?Kids need a break, too!  If this schedule is stressful for an NT adult, imagine its effects on a child with ASD!  Rest up, girl...you've earned it!

YEs Elle22, I did! Thanks! I feel a little better about tomorrows schedule now, too!

Ds is happily having water time with the hose right now- its 95 here-HOT!

Take a break and don't feel guilty!!! I canceled an ABA appointment for my son for tomorrow so he could play with a friend of his outside in his new sand box. Of course he doesn't now this or understand it, but I know if I need a break, I am sure he needs one too!TAKE A BREAK!!

That is a busy schedule for anyone. Everyone needs a break, you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about. You are ONE person, and you can only take so much. Missing a day of therapy here and there is not going to stop your ds in his tracks.

If you can get him to take a nap, pile up on the couch and just relax and watch tv. Do NOTHING, just relax.

I hope it gets better for you. I know we all feel the need to be supermom, but taking a break here and there does not make you any less SUPER!!

Relax and breath. It will be ok.

I did this when I needed a break too...I just told them I needed a break or Sarah needed one...and they were cool:)

Dont feel guilty...burn out is great and we need to take care of ourselves first before we can care for others:) Rest!

Don't feel guilty at all...I ditched ESY this year because my son needed the break...I got slack for that from the school, but he just couldn't handle it IMHO!!

I second what Shelley said!!  We definitely need to take care of ourselves too or we are no good to anyone!!

I  am feeling guilt an dreleif... I cancelled ds speech therapy for this afternoon. I never do this. But I need a break... Here is his new schedule since last week- MOn-fri he goes to a clinic for speech, ot and sensory with theraputic listening. He is their 3 and a half hours. tues,he has speech at 4:30. Wed =he has speech at 2 and ot at 2:30. Thurs he has speech at 3 and ot at 3:30. Speech and ot are a 1/2 hour drive each way-they take place in same building. The clinic is about 35 min awaymaybe more, it depends on traffic. We live in Orlando and everything is far away and the traffic is HORRIBLE! I just need him to take a nap and NOT drive for once hauling him all over, ya know?
