Found the link for you:)

Shelley I am getting pretty bad when I am too lazy not to link on AMAZON! LOL

Mason is so bad with food...he eats like 5 different things...pop-tarts, cereal, chips, pb&j and french fries...ok 6 because he will eat ONLY McDonald's chicken nuggets.

But he is taking some meds and they are definitely making him more hungry...problem is he usually only wants to snack on chips...he will only eat the cereal at breakfast, pb&j at lunch etc!  I really need to get him to start eating better, but he refuses to even try anything new.  He has been lucky so far that he hasn't gained weight from his horrible diet, but with this increased appetite that is bound to happen if I can't get him to eat a little better.

I thought I saw someone mention a book on how to help kids eat more or try new foods...I don't know if Mason is just so stubborn and stuck in his ways or if it is a sensory thing, but I can't get him to eat good!  Our doctor told us to just eliminate the snacking and give him what we eat and eventually he would try our food...yeah, that didn't happen and after literally a week of him starving I gave in...I couldn't stand it!  He just wouldn't eat!!!  Wouldn't even try it!  It also resulted in many plates of food being thrown across the dining room!

Anyone know what book I am talking about...or maybe a sensory book I should be looking at that focuses on food?

Thanks.

edited to say: I was going to do a search on here, but guess what??  I have NO CLUE how to, lol!!

emerald_52139274.3792013889Just Take One Bite.  Don;t remember the authhor but someone will.

THANKS!!!!  I'm ordering it now!!!!

Wish me luck!  Just Take A Bite is good, so is Can't Eat, Won't Eat.

But honestly I have tried everything from reward charts to baby teething rings to stimulate his mouth, everything. Let me know if you have any luck! My son is 6 and a half and still no luck but I still am hopeful.

I know, Hope2...Mason is 6 also...we struggled with constipation for a long, long time and I know a good part of it had to be because of his diet...he was on a laxative for over a year!  I started giving him a fiber supplement and that has helped so much...way better than the laxitive!

Anyway,  I'm hoping I can find something...I'm going to bring it up to his therapist and OT also, but there was always something else I thought should be addressed first...but now with this appetite increase, I don't want to ignore this anymore!

jeeze, i wish this book woulda been out when I was growing up, i hate the way I look, im 6'1" and am scrawny, only weighing 155lbs!

I wish ya the best of luck, i hope the book works, i wish i woulda eaten the way I do now back then, really i had a problem with both, i had my routine of eating specific things at specific times + could not stand texture of most foods, if i could go back I sure would fight this so I can have more meat on my bones and not be self consious when swimming!
