My husband checked for you and it is not covered by Medicaid as of yet!!! Since it is a "new" drug and it is expensive, they r usually slow and do not want to pay. But he said there is "prior authorization" procedure that your doctor can do and show that it is a medical necessity for your ds (it is just a form that the doctor fills out and sends or faxes over there), and they will authorize it. It will take a couple of weeks, but it can be done. My friend who has MS and has Medicaid takes these 00.00 shots and it took a while, but she got it covered.
Thanks a bunch to you and your husband. Skylar seems to being fine on the medication that he is on as of now, but I think it would be something to look into, just in case.
Thanks for checking on that for me and letting me know how to go about getting the authorization going.
Lalloo75, is there any way that you can find out if Medicaid will pay for the medication?
Sorry about the spelling!!! He is claiming I heard him wrong!!!! Yeah right!!! Anywho, my husband said clients are raing about it saying that it has very minimal side affects. But here is the fun filled catch: a lot of insurances won't cover it since it is new and very expensive 100 pills for 0, and they say there are alternatives !!!!
Sure !! I will ask him!!! What State do u live in?

I live in Texas. Thanks for checking for me. Hey u guys!!! My husband who is a pharmacist just informed me that the FDA released a new drug called "Vivanase" used for ADHD, and it was observed that it helped "control" stims, especially ""violent" stims and behavior in a few autistic patients. He is looking for the research regarding autism and I will post the link. Thanks for the tip. Web MD has the spellling as vyvanseThat is very interesting. Thanks for posting that. That is so cool! Should I tell my son's doctor about it? He hasn't brought it up!Go to www.vyvanse.com & you can get a free 30 day supply coupon. Then if it works, it will be easier to persuade your insurance company to approve it.
