Cool!
Bug loves to run - and even his teacher commented this week that she thinks he'll be a track star...

The following piece was written by the mother of 16 year-old twin boys who have autism, and was posted on the Autism Speaks web site.

Thanks! I enjoyed reading that! WOW! That is so touching! TY for sharing the link! While many of our kids might not have the skills needed to play competive team sports like football, baseball, or basketball, there are other sports that they might find enjoyable. I liked that the piece highlighted one such sport - running. These two boys did not try it until they were 15 years old, and they're really good at it. I just think that's fantastic! While they're not over fast, a 20:XX 5K and 43:XX 10K time are respectable by most measures (respectable for physically fit adults without developmental disorders) and will finish in the top 10-20% or so of most local, recreational races. Good for them. Running is a great sport and the running culture is a very positive and open one.
