toileting success finally | Autism PDD

I've been waiting for this day for long time! i am soo relieved like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulder.

Quinn has accomplished using the toilet 100% of the time for over a week now. He has been bladder trained since he was 5 yrs old but had not been bowel trained.
He used to ask for pull-ups..when I just asked him what he thinks that we should do with what we have left he said "We should give them to the Salvation Army"

I am soo proud of him!

HOORAY! That is WONDERFUL!

WOW, This is so good. You should celebrate this.  Very Happy for you and Quinn, what a big boy. Congrats! Congratulations! And such a great thing that he wants to donate the rest of the pullups!

HOORAY! What about taking him somewhere he REALLY likes to go and it just be you and him (if that's possible)? Or something he REALLY, REALLY wants? We had pre-arranged at the beginning of toilet training that when he was going 100% of the time in the potty that he would get a guitar with strings (not a toy guitar in other words). My ds was SO excited when he got to pick out his guitar - it was blue too - his favorite color! That one was more than the regular guitar, but I tell you what - I was so relieved and excited myself that I simply did not care about the extra ! It was worth every penny to me to not have to buy pull-ups anymore!

He gets it out every once in a while - particularly when is he is very stressed about something. He doesn't know how to play (I may get him lessons at some point) but it is calming to him. So, we got something he really wanted and that ALSO helps calm him on occasion. Which reminds me that I probably need to get that out so he can have access to it. The problem is that I don't want the twins coming over and breaking it (they're kind of rough on things I've found!).

Anyway - congratulations! That is awesome and I bet you are relieved AND exhausted!

snoopywoman39269.4261111111Thank you!! I often felt like this day would never come!I feel like I won the lottery!

I let him stay up 1 extra hour last night and he got a prize from his dad and one from me too but I would like to do something else too because this a major accomplishment for him.

I am very proud off him wanting to donate the rest of the pull-ups

momof139269.2468634259YAAAAAAAY, WAY TO GO!!

Congrats!
I know that you must feel that your on top of the world and I am so very happy for you and your little man.

GREAT JOB MOM!!!!
I am soo relieved...this takes a lot of stress away.

I used to send him to school with an extra pair of underpants and a pair of pants or shorts that were identical to what he was wearing just in case. I look forward to not having to buy 2 pairs or everything for him. Now he will have a wider selection of clothes to wear and it wont look like he only has a few things. This alone will make shopping for him easier for me.momof139269.2699305556congratulations!Thank you for all of the Congrats!

Anyone with an older child who is still working on bowel training, Please don't despair!

Tomorrow when he gets home from his dad's we are going to his favorite arcade to celebrate!Oooooh I am so jealous!!!!!
Congrats! I KNOW what a burden it can be.
GOOD JOB EVERYONE Yippee!Whahoo!!! Cheerleader high kicks in the air!!!!!

Well, congratulations.
