SWING set question- totally serious! | Autism PDD

You might be able to find something used on www.craigslist.org.  They have  classified ads for many, many cities.

Home Depot sells the kit that comes with the precut wood and all the stuff you need in it I think you have to buy the swing on the side.  The other option is a rainbow playground.  My parents bought one for my kids they came right out to the house placed it and put it together for them.

If you are looking for something industrial, E-Bay actually has a 10 ft. steel set that comes with 3 swings for 9.00.  I know this is expensive, but it's a good deal if you look at what they want for one this size and quality elsewhere.

Ok- i have an 11 yr old...he loves, loves, loves to swing. He has worn out the set. Of course- my 8 yr old swings too- but Jeremy def. wore out this set...the wood is splitting...Jer is getting too heavy.....so- outside of the fact that we want the swing set just to fall down- we are considering getting another one...

i just want a really sturdy SWING set- i dont want any other bells or whistles...i dont even need a slide. I need a really good basic sturdy swing set...i need it PRE-CUT....hubby can't be bothered cutting wood....Jeremy's love of swinging is not going to stop!!! And- that is fine....

does anyone know a national place i can order a wooden swing set that is sturdy from????

Thanks!

What about something like a SINGLE tire swing, on a metal frame?

The little sets are so flimsy, anymore (NOW, that makes me sound OLD! Or maybe, heavy???).

As for ordering ... LOWE'S HARDWARE, maybe?  I dunno?

i would love to find a metal frame swing set if I could....i am searching.

i just want my kid to swing at his convenience! I am not asking for much.

the sad part is- he is intentionally swinging high at this point- as he knows we are going to replace it.....its that PRE-teenage thing!

As my son got older, we had lots of luch with a hammock.  It's more age-appropriate and anyone who uses it can lay down and rest, too. Another great item for sensory input is a big trampoline (with a built-in fence, of course).  These items were SO worth the money. Another option, if you have a tree or can make an A-frame, is to put a big, old tire on a strong rope.  Either parallel to the ground or perpendicular to the ground, whichever seems to fit your son best.
