What to do about MMR? | Autism PDD

I'm just wondering, for those of you who believe there is a link between the MMR and autism--what do you believe is the proper course of action with the MMR? Should it just not be given at all? Should it be given as 3 separate shots?

I do not know much about this but I'm wondering if I should do something different about this when it comes time for my 3 month old to get that vaccine. I'd say put it off as long as possible if you HAVE to get it...the older the child is, the better in my opinion.  Also, getting it as 3 different shots and allowing some time between each one might be better than giving it all at once.  Make SURE to ask the doctor about all possible side effects and inquire about the INGREDIENTS in the shot (or look this stuff up online...docs can be condescending about such "routine" matters.)  There are other potentially harmful ingredients beside THIMEROSAL, such as aluminum and MSG, in most vaccines.  Since measles, mumps, and rubella aren't necessarily FATAL diseases and are more of an inconvenience in most cases, if you aren't REQUIRED by law to get the shot, don't do it, especially if there's a history of ASD in your family. The MMR gave me a fever of 104 as a child and I was extremely sick.  It was after this event that I began limiting my diet and having "strange" feelings and behaviors.  I remember it and also read about it in my baby book.  Hope that helps.
