I wish I lived a little bit closer to you. I'm guessing a 2hr commute is out of the question? Just having someone observe would be so helpful. But the meeting isn't until the end of August anyways.. Oh well :)
Bo -- Just let me know. I'd love to observe your CPSE in November. But get me the date as soon as you can so I can put it on my calendar. YOu know how to get in touch.
Melody -- I don't know where you live. If you are on Long Island or in the City, it's a possibility. I cannot drive over high bridges, so it's not possible for me to go upstate in most cases. Just post your town and I'll know.

Alex's meeting is in Novemeber. Too late? Brentwood school district, which, so far, has been wonderful to us. You can come along and let me know what you think.

This is for those for Long Islanders only.
I have an assignment from one of my advocacy instructors. He told me to go to as many CSE meetings in as many varied school districts as possible. To go as a friend, not as an advocate, and to only listen, not speak. I would then write him a little report and he would go over what went on with me. I can't pass up the opportunity to get mentored by one of the best advocates on the East Coast, so I was hoping some of you from Long Island would volunteer to have me come with you the next time you've got a meeting scheduled. I would take notes for you and I'd share my little written report. But that would all be just for your eyes. In order to observe properly, I can't actually advocate during those meetings. Any takers?
