Hey Tony's Mom,
You are still younger than me and my sweetie, Tony is 12, Ty is 5.
Ann still looks to me like she did when I met her.
She always will.I am 38 - Lachlans dad is 50.
37.... going on 80 something. My husband is 37 and we know each other since we were 16 so ..... for 20 years. It took us 20 years and "AUTISM" to find something to argue about.
I'm 32 and my husband is 38. We've been married for 13 years believe it or not!
I can understand how it is hard to have kids young -- I have a dear friend (her mom was my friend first!) who got married at 19 and had 2 kids by 25. Thing is, she is very slender and petite (4'10"), and her DH is only 5'3" or so ... when she was pregnant or pushing a stroller, people would make audible remarks about Jr. Hi kids! She'd just laugh ...
My problem is, at 50, with 3 little kids, my contemporaries (with whom I would share more culture) are done with childrearing and not really interested in being around my kids ... and the parents of my kids' classmates have moms MY age! Kind of a barrier to playdates, whether it should be, or not. I was never a mainstream-y type, anyhow, but this adds something to that.
Will be 31 on Sat.The big 2-3!Oh Luckyman.... ain't it the truth! Tony has had a CAP worker for years, and most of the girls have been in their mid 20's. Most of the time, Tony would go out and do things with the worker, as was the plan.
But on the odd occasion MOM would join in, I am often mistaken for granny! Now, technically, I could be grandma, since I am 47 and Tony is 12. But gosh, that hurts!

*groans* I really am the youngest by years. :)
Back in my day, 21 was the average age to have babies, when I had my first one. We all got married right out of high school. Womens lib, ms magazine etc. were just becoming mainstream. Boy, times have changed. I got my tubes tied when I was 23. Had big plans for my 40's and 50's. "The best laid plans..." My first grandchild was born and left on my doorstep when I was 39. Jess, Yah! I win I have 2 kids with sept b-days the 11th (much to her horror now) and the 20th. You know, those xmas and new years holidays

I didn't think I was that young when I had my kids but now it's hard to find people around your age. I pretty much get along with anyone but I hate the stares that i get from some snooty women. "wow, she already has 2" Whatever, I went to college and did my thing. Thanks for everyone sharing their ages, now we just need photos :)
Here is me (still haven't lost the baby weight :( )

I am 48 and DW is 46.
Fortunately this only happens when we are in a group of my son's friends moms.

Chibbylick,
I remember him when he had the long hair, bell bottoms..dude platform shoes and silk shirts..boy he was hot! I was tiny and long hair and a hippy child~no bra, barefooted, imbibed in stuff!
He is going bald and cranky and I am looking just like my mom and talking like her too!
I am feeling very old now!!

2ndroundmom, you got it, 21, but I'll be 22 in sept. I'm starting my 5th year of college, I've been a therapist for three years, and babysitting for a child with Autism for almost 5. Darn you for umasking me!

older man.. Wow i never really thought about our age difference until
you write it down.. but we have a great marrige and life
together.. Oldest son going to be 8 on monday and youngest going
to be 4 in august..
I'm 45, And next year I'll be 45. (haha) We're not getting older, only better.
39 here....the big one with a 4 in it is coming in January!
I'm 47... dh will be 43 in August. Felt strange to say he's 42 (makes me feel like a cradle robber!)
Although I'm with Loki... just keep holding from now on!
Mary
44 hereWe started late in life to have kids..first one at 28 years old and 2nd one at 36... we met when I was 14 and pretty much been together every since!
It is strange growing up together... and getting old together!
He's still a handsome devil, though.
Like Momof1, I am another mom of 1 who is 39, turning 40 in January.
YIKES! Had J. a few weeks after my 35th b-day.
Unlike some of you young kids out there, I haven't felt old until THIS
birthday. It's official! But, I'm happy.
Someone once told me, "It's fantastic to get older. If the number stops
getting bigger it means you're DEAD." I really couldn't argue.
I cannot get over how YOUNG most of you were when you had your children! MY ds is 8 and I am 48 - it took me forever to have him!
Well I'll pop in and say I am 38 and will be 39 next month. I have been told I look in my early 30s, but I think people just say that to flatter. Oh, and because I have young kids I think people just assume I'm younger. NOT!
I think there is a WIDE variety of ages here - I think a range of about 36 years? Lots of older, lots of younger and several in between. I count myself in the older as I am close to 40... Wow, I remember when 30 sounded old...
Back in my day, 21 was the average age to have babies, when I had my first one. We all got married right out of high school. Womens lib, ms magazine etc. were just becoming mainstream. I win I have 2 kids with sept b-days the 11th (much to her horror now) and the 20th. You know, those xmas and new years holidaysI' realizing that now days---people are having children later in life.
Ages have been posted before. I'm on the record as being 57, which is the truth. I was born in 1950! We are our son's biological parents. I was 41 when he was born and my DH was 44. No help with this -- just nature!
Hey tzoya!
I also was 41 when I had my son, just turned 52 in April and my hubby of 29 yrs is 57. I haven't mentioned this before but we have 6 other children ages 28, 27, 25, 23, 21 and 16. The two oldest have asperger's and some mental health issues (28 year old will finally graduate in December with a degree in New Media/Web Design) we are so proud of him and how hard he has worked, (27 year old still living with us but working part time). Our 25 year old is married and she is a Speech Therapist and our 23 year old is a Social Worker. Our 21 year old with ADD and nonverbal learning disability (struggling but entering his third year of the mechanical engineering program at our state college). Our 16 year old with a seizure disorder but doing great now. Then of course our 10 year old with autism, seizure disorder, diabetes and ODD. There are many challenges but also joys!!
My 24 year old Son is married ,We have had 25 foster kids over the last ten years.
we adopted DS ,pdd 5 years ago,and our 2 year old NT boys adoption is in the works.
we will be married 27 years in Aug.
Linda
I'm 32 and DH will soon be 37. It just doesn't seem possible that we've been together for 14 years and married for 11! We both still get carded when we get the rare beer or wine and I've even been accused of having a fake ID within the last year! I can see it with my husband, but I just don't see it with myself. When I was pregnant and after our son was born, people often though we were teen parents. I never thought I was all that young looking though. Here's a pic of me and our son when he was 4 days old and I was almost 21. Now don't go snickering at me. This is far from my favorite picture of me. The second one is a picture from when I was actually still pregnant and the little boy is a friends son.How old is everybody? I am curious as so many photos and videos you all look and sound so young!
We are adoptive parents (and I am used to them, they are typically OLDER!). I am 49 -- and hit the big five-oh in Sept. DH is 48.
How old are YOU?
I'm 41 - though I've been told I look 10 years younger32I am 32 and my hubby is 35.
Hi Linda
It’s me granny53 so yes you guessed it I am 53 I am short and fluffy (heavy set) I can't say I look that young because I have decided to grow older gracefully. Although I have no idea why anyone would say growing old gracefully because can you tell me what is so graceful about hot flashes HMM! or why when I take my bra off I am no longer able to smile because everything is being pulled down ???? LOL in any case the only thing I can tell you is what my grand-daughter told me a little while ago. She wants to know if I am a grandma how come I don't have any lines in my face so I told her it was because I am so fluffy! That’s my answer and I am sticking to it.
All Kidding aside it is nice to have this place and talk to someone who understands what I am going through with my autistic grandson. Have any of you heard something about pictogram daily charts. Since Danny and I have been introduced to this schedule it has taken so much of Kevin’s anxiety away and he seems to be more relaxed. Now that he can see what he has to do for the day he is no longer in panic mode all the time.
When we got Kevin he was 11 years old and couldn’t even wash him self now all we have left to show him about his grooming is how to adjust the shower water and he will be completely independent for his personal hygiene. He never ate veggies when he was young so it is a fight almost every time he sees veggies in his plate. I can tell you this though he loves cauliflower and don’t even know it I just mash it in his potatoes, he hates carrots but has to eat at least 3 baby carrots when presented in his plate.
Kevin also has ADHD and is on a medication and is monitored closely by the doctor because if he looses any weight at all he will be off the meds.
What are your experiences with your son?
Alice
I'll be 45 later this year. NorwayDad is 42.
I am 37 but I still get carded. lol
Alice, I SO can relate to YOU! I am fluffing up a tad, my ownself. Not 'paused, yet, but the day is fast approaching!
I actually have an ASD daughter, she's only six, and she eats about 5 foods ... but the other day she said, (squirrel that she is!) "We aren't supposed to eat vegetables at home." (Which gives me hope she IS eating them, out, LOL!). She is not on any meds yet, only got dx'd in March at age 6, has her first IEP in front of her ...
I am 51..but feel so much older....I'm 40 (don't feel it, been told I don't look it) and DH is 44 (doesn't act like it!
Seriously it has been fun guessing -- sometimes I can tell ... by your name, or your kids' names ... and sometimes NOT!
Older than the first poster, but not the oldest so far.
I'm going to be 26 on July 12th DH is 28Melody, you and I are the youngest so far :) and we both have boys close togetehr.. You don't live in Minnesota do you :)heh, no I'm in CT... I will be 25 on the 26th.. Yay reduced insurance rates?
