Back From Vacation | Autism PDD

Well, school ended June 14.  We had a nice Father's Day weekend, then Andrew and I headed to Mimi's house at the Jersey shore (my Mom's) for a visit.  During our stay I had Andrew baptized...Finally...in my childhood church in Philly by our minister who was retiring.  He did very well, and other than a few loud hunger outbursts..."Banana!"..."Crackers"...and an exciting crawl for the door or two, not to mention some splashing at the baptismal font, it was a joyous occasion and everyone in the congregation was supportive, and certainly entertained

Then it was back to Mimi's for a few more days before starting summer school.  Andrew is still in love with the Ocean and started each day by saying, "Water! waterwaterwaterwater...as fast as possible..."  We can walk to the ocean from my Mom's and have to drive there here in VA Beach.  I don't think he realizes that it's the same Water!

Summer school is going well...better for him than for me as it is only three hours long.  I am having trouble getting out from under being away over a week, and I have yet to study for my family practice recertification board exam on August 4, but all in all, I think we're doing okay...

Schedule....What schedule???

We missed you, too!  Welcome back!  Glad you and Andrew are enjoying summer.Glad you had a good break i think we all need one once in a while

Sounds like a lovely time, AM.  My kids are down in FL at the beach right now, too (I get to stay home and work, yeah!).  I think the ocean is great for our kids.  Sometimes, I wonder, what's better - a few hours at the ocean or a session of sensory therapy.  For sensory input, I cannot think of a better place than the shore.

It's nice to hear that you and Andrew have enjoyed yourselves - and good luck on your exam!

Congrats on your trip!!

We are going to attempt a little vacation next month, first one since Skylar was a year old. I am hoping and praying that all goes well, no tantrums or running off.

Wish me luck!
GOOD LUCK with your certs..... And glad  that u r back after a nice vacation.

Glad you are back:) Sarah was baptized at 9 mos..she screamed the whole time..the video looks like she was being tortured

We are Greek Orthodox and the ceremony is painfully long!!  Sarah loves the ocean too..both my cameras got ruined from the humidity so I cant even post pics

Wished we lived closer to the ocean..it's a 5-6 hour drive here:P

Good luck with your boards.  What a pain in the butt.  I hope you had a good vacation and that Andrew had a great time with the water.
