I really love Target when........ | Autism PDD

..................they put their stuff on clearance!!!!  Gabe was pretty good this month so I picked him up a beyblade.  Which was cheaper than Walmart.  So I had to get Jeffrey a toy and couldn't decide.  Thought I would get him a transformer energon.  Saw this one , megatron with a clearance price on it.  It is a 40 dollar toy and they had it marked down to 10 bucks!!!!!  So of course I pick it up.  They can both play with that one, lol.  Now I could hold it back for christmas but the last time I did that, lol, Gabe didn't like the toy because it was Armada and he wanted energon ones.  They are coming out with Cybertron now, lol.  I did pick Jeffrey up a matchbox airport that they had on clearance for 3.50.  So this is the only time you will hear me praise Target, lol

P.S.  You know what they are doing.  In September watch for them to start putting out some pre Christmas toys.

Tammy

OMG!!!!!  YOU??? YOU????  WENT TO TARGET??????????????????  LMAO

told you they have good deals!!!

Karrie

Thought you would find this funny!!!!  Yeah they do have good clearance deals.  Thought their backpacks were a bit high.  So will have to wait to see if they drop the price on those

Tammy

I need to start looking at backpacks for Adam so if you find a place that is nationwide that has a really good price let me know!!

Karrie

Karrie just got home from KMart, saw a spiderman backpack and they are on sale 25% off.....

Oh that would be perfect Michelle!!  Thanks,

Karrie

Here in Florida, we have a week of tax-free shopping for school supplies and clothing. Target was the place to get the soft no-frills shirts that my little man will only wear. i took a chance on getting the shorts that go with school uniforms. Thy're a little nicer, but really soft. I made sure that mr. man got to feel them an d check them out when I got home. He was fine with all my loot until he saw somethng DIFFERENT, the uniform shorts. Fortunately, I paid only -5 dollars for everything but the uniform shorts, they were 9.99. Mom babysat so that I could conentrate on finding the bargains. Shoes were another story. He wants nothing to  do with laces. Benjamin wears a size 3 -4 shoe. Most placesonly have laces for a kid that big. We had to go to a few stores in a very crowded mall to find them (Sears). I wish could describe adequately what he looked like with that Hotwheels car going across all of the glass counters, oblivious to all of the shoppers. Janet

Lol, figures.  The bus has to detour off of Lake St, because of basically tearing down the road to the bare bones.  A three year project mind you.  So a twenty minute trip would be hummmmmmmmmm 40 now?????  I thought about checking them out but I am the only one in there that speaks english.

Tammy

Tammy, I'm just curious, what's usually wrong with target? Personally, I try to avoid Walmart as much as possible!! I hated shopping there in the states and I dislike the one in germany even more!!

Well here I went thru four microwaves in a year, and they all came from target.  I have had other people tell me to avoid getting appliances or electronics there.  I got a printer there once, the software and the ink cartridge was missing when I opened it.  Some of their clothes is cheaply made.  One summer shirt I got from there, only wore once, wased it once too, didn't dry it, and the strap on it  is fraying.  Now I do know that ever since Kmart came out of bankruptcy their prices are higher than target.  But then I don't like Martha Stewart either.

Tammy

OK, you said her name...had to post this! ;)

Martha Stewart vs. the Real World (Me & You)

Martha's way #1: Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
My way: Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for pete's sake, you are probably laying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway. You know we don't have anything better to do.

Martha's way #2: Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle and you'll get perfectly shaped pancakes every time.
My way: Buy the precooked kind you nuke in the microwave for 30 seconds. The hard part is getting them out of the plastic bag.

Martha's way #3: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
My way: Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year.

Martha's way #4: To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard boiling.
My way: Who cares if they crack, aren't you going to take the shells off anyway?

Martha's way #5: To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature and roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.
My way: Sleep with the lemons in between the mattress and box springs.

Martha's way #6: To easily remove burnt-on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop.
My way: Eat at Chili's every night and avoid cooking.

Martha's way #7: Spray your Tupperware with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.
My way: Feed your garbage disposal and there won't be any leftovers.

Martha's way #8: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
My way: Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you.

Martha's way #9: If you accidentally over salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix me up"
My way: If you over salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. My motto: I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes.

Martha's way #10: Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
My way: Celery? Never heard of the stuff.

Martha's way #11: Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
My way: The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust and so I just won't do it.

Martha's way #12: Place a slice of apple in hardened brown sugar to soften it.
My Way: Brown sugar is supposed to be "soft"?

Martha's way #13: When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness.
My Way: The only kind of corn I buy comes in a can.

Martha's way #14: To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh, but if it rises to the surface, throw it away.
My way: Eat, cook, or use the egg anyway. If you feel bad later, you will know it wasn't fresh.

Martha's way #15: Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
My way: Martha, dear, the only reason this works is because you can't rub a lime on your forehead without getting lime juice in your eye, and then the problem isn't the headache anymore, it is because you are now blind.

Martha's way #16: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
My way: Who has left over wine? Never happens in this house.

Martha's way #17: If you have a problem opening jars: Try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
My way: Go ask the very cute neighbor to do it.

Martha's way #18: Potatoes will take food stains off your fingers. Just slice and rub raw potato on the stains and rinse with water.
My way: Mashed potatoes will now be replacing the antibacterial soap in the handy dispenser next to my sink.

Martha's way #19: Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer.? Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous China.? Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets. ? Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka-Seltzer tablets into a glass of water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.? Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka-Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).
My way: Put your jewelry, vases, and thermos in the toilet. Add some Alka-Seltzer and you have solved a whole bunch of problems at once.

Dinner anyone?

Bye the way Michelle...I got lost looking for the K-mart here (long story)  Anyway I did however find the Walmart and I got a Spiderman backpack for .99. Thought that was a pretty good deal.  They have crayon boxes there for 48 cents too!!

Karrie

Omg!!!!  That is so hilarious!!!!!!!!!  Needed a laugh after a hot day today!!!! You know there wasn't a bad part to any of it.  Thanks horanimals!!!!

Tammy

The Marthsa Stewart piece was a riot! I wonder if they gave that crazy woman any psychological evaluations while in lock-up. Or is OCD now a cool, acceptible thing among the rich.

hugs,

Ali

Janet,

Takoda also wants velcro no laces for school this year. Still easy to find in his size 12. I showed him the lightup velcro shoes in the new Walmart ad and he got very excited. Not at the lightup shoes but the pink winnie-the-pooh shoes right under them.

He has a very serious obsession with pink but I already gave in on the socks I think girls shoes is just a little more then I can indulge him.

ANY KNOW WERE TO FIND PINK (VELCRO) BOYS SHOES?

Nelle

PS. I haven't been able to get Takoda to put on his own shoes yet so I'm hoping that nice velcro pair that he likes will be an incentive.

Horanimals,

raotflmao. Thanks I needed a laugh. lol celebrating.

That has made my day.

I am no good at holding things back.  If I was good at it - my kids would find it anyway! lol

I've seen backpacks (smaller ones) for just under 5 dollars at walmart, but I got my dd's at Target for 7.77 on sale two weeks ago.  She likes the messenger bag style that slings across the body.  Zach is a creature of habbit and will only carry his shreck backpack.  (thank god we have two of these for now! ) I keep my eye out for more of them since this is all he will carry.

You all make me laugh!!    I got a kick out of the Martha spoof!!

And by the way.........You think it is hard to find velcro shoes in youth sizes!!!!!      Try finding them for a teenager who still can't or won't tie shoes!    There just isn't anything that looks cool !!!     We tried those sneaker type pull on shoes but they were too narrow as his feet grew and caused ingrown toe nails.

and  then son #2   also prefers girl shoes!!    I thought we finally had him broken of that but he found this really cool pair of white slings.....the kind the movie stars wear with  those sexy nighties.......you know with the white fur across the toe.....(they were in the dress up box.....not my closet!!)     They will have to disappear before school starts!!

Thanks for the smiles!!     bonnie

Yes I got the kids backpacks from Target last year.  Each one was around .00.  They lasted until Christmas.
