My son is 10 and has PDD/ADHD/OCD and he too ate everything but was on several meds to control his symptoms...we are on various diets, but removing flavors, preservatives and salicylates has kept his ADHD under control without meds...I thing omega 3s are a great idea...maybe a high B complex, too!! My son takes Super B from http://www.youngliving.us/US/products.asp
Since this study just came out that enzymes can reverse some effects of
fragile X, I was wondering if I should give supplements a whirl. My ds
does not have fragile X (though I tend to think that autism is genetic, only
different groups of genes are involved for different peple). He is a good
eater and likes his fruit, milk, bread and meat. He never had any bowl
problems or problems with allergies. I kind of tend to think that this
approach might not help my ds but then what do I know? So I have never
tried any diets or supplements and I feel a little overwhelmed on where to
start or what to try.
Any advice on a good book or most promising supplement? We also do GFCF and supplements. We run everything with our DAN first.
There are several people on this board who are better at explaining it than
me. So I am waiting for them to respond. Has it made a difference with our
son? Yes! Has it hurt him in anyway? No.
I think you have to do what you feel comfortable with. I think one thing that
many people are in agreement is with Fish Oils, Omega 3,6,9 and DHA. You
may start with those first if you havent already. My whole family takes it.
Nodic Naturals or Cro-Omega are the two brands at our house.
Micki, a lot of people try taking Milk or all dairy out first. This is a good (and brief) overview-

My son has always had a varied diet, will eat most foods, no bowel issues, allergy and DAN! tested and tests show no reason to do the GF/CF diet- and yet I took him off of dairy and within 2 weeks I see some noticeable changes. Now sleeps thru the night.
We giving supplements and are going to try DMG since there are no known side effects: http://www.autismwebsite.com/ari/newsletter/dmg2.htm
Science and testing might not back this up- but if there is no harm and possible improvements- it is worth a try!
Good luck, Cindy
