We are thinking of working with a Floortime consultant and I contacted the folks in ATL which is the closest to us
they are not taking any new patients before September but this is what the charges are
0 for the initial Eval and then 0 per hour for the follow ups - in the followups here we will basically be showing the consultant descriptions snapshots of what we are doing ( through video) and then she will give us suggestions
While this is expi - I still think it will be totally worthwhile as I think even the initial evaluation is what will be pretty critical
They said they will give us receipts so that we can file with insurance- anybody have any luck with this ?
Kristy in case you read this post "the child with special needs" is especially fantastic - just wanted to thank you for the recommendation
I'm glad you're doing this. Please keep us informed. We are so lucky that our county is picking up to cost of Floortime. We pay out of pocket for the ABA. I'm not sure about the insurance. But, if they have degrees in counseling/or are MSWs or psychologists I could see how that might work. It would probably be billed as psychological services. It may be out of network depending on your insurance. I'm pretty sure our insurance wouldn't pick up the tab for that.
I agree the initial eval is probably the most beneficial thing. Do they train you as part of the package or how do you learn the techniques? This set up is quite different than our program, but sounds good to me. We get a lot of feedback on our videos as well.
Good luck!
