I think you're very lucky to have a toddler with taste like that in television.
When both of my boys were toddlers, they enjoyed Wheel of Fortune A LOT! I'm sure it was all of the lights, dinging sounds, spinning wheel, and applause. They loved to applaud with the audience and call out letters. Actually, I'm pretty sure it helped them learn letter recognition at a young age.
BTW - I think you should send a tape to the Colbert Report. Maybe they'll use it!
Wyatt loves musicals and british comedy. I think the first time I heard him belly laugh (apart from tickling) was when he was barely 2 and watching "Mr.Bean!"
Not veryoff beat around here. A noggin show called Jack's big Music Show and Seseame Street especially the end of the new ones when Oscar reads to Slimy.
He would love to watch ,The Super Nanny,Ect, Kids out of control screaming and crying Amazes him,But I don't let him for fear of him modeling the behaviour.

HiOur son has been a newshound from infancy. His favorite part has always been the weather though. When Jay Cardosi (his favorite meteorologist from one of the local channels) comes on he's glued to the screen. He will watch The Weather Channel for hours at a time if you'd let him. He has said from the time he was a toddler he was going to be a meteorologist, with The National Weather Service when he grows up. His taste in TV has become more age appropriate over the last couple of years, but a few of his favorites from when he was a toddler are... This Old House, Hetty Wainthrop Mysteries (British series we used to watch on PBS), Emeril, Keeping Up Appearances, Are You Being Served, Jeopardy (funny thing is, he now refuses to watch because of the music!), and Lawrence Welk of all things.
Nowadays his taste runs more along the lines of Drake and Josh, Spongebob, Smallville , The Red Green Show and Mythbusters. He is also a James Bond aficionado (thanks to my little brother
On a sidenote, my DH and I love George Carlin and Eddie Izzard. We have quite a few of the DVD's, which he's not allowed to watch, of course. I recently made the discovery that our old babysitter used to watch these with him in the room! I realized something was up when he just started saying "I've invented a maneuver... " in a German accent, out of the blue. I knew for certain he'd been watching Izzard when he was watching Return of the Jedi and this pops out of his mouth, all said in a perfect immitation of the cockney accent Izzard uses, "Hello. Now look I'm Lord Vader and just pay a-bloody-tention, all right. Luke, the force is strong with you." "Is it?" "Yeah." "Well who told you that?" "I dunno, some bloke! Yeah, he said the force is really rather strong with you." "Well how strong?" "Um... as strong as a small pony." "Well, that's quite strong that is!"
I found out about the Carlin watching when, one morning at Toys R Us, he wanted to go by the Thomas the Tank Engine wooden display that's set up, like he did as a little kid. While standing there he informed us that Mr. Conducter has a very bad potty mouth on that other show he's on.
WIMom- I think we will send in a clip of H to the Colbert Show and make a special point to mention that H has no interest in John Stuart! ha
Wyattsmommy- your tag line is so funny (the fridge phonics)
My daughter started to LOVE commercials at about 1 1/2 years. My MIL joked we should tape an hours worth of commercials for her. She loves anything with a jingle. She uses the jingles as reference in conversation, or just runs up and yells out her favorite jingle, does a dance and is gone again, lol. She is famous for walking up to someone and saying " Did you know that Brawney towels are 10 times stronger then the next elading brand. Why would you choose them when you can buy Brawney?' THen she walks away without waiting for an answer. You should hear her Kay's jewelery CHristmas commercial diatribe, its great.
