Holly,
Oh that is so great!! I'm so glad to hear that you and your family had such a good time and your trip was uneventful!! It's amazing the surprises that come when we least expect it. Just wanted to say that I'm happy for you that your son did so well. Take care,
Karrie
Holly, how fantastic! I can imagine your relief and joy! It's great when our little cuties show us they can do things we'd never imagined. Glad you had such a good vacation!
I agreed to go on a family vacation with my husband's sibling's families. There were 11 of us total sharing a cute little cabin in Bozeman, MT.
I was very reluctant to agree to go on vacation because I was not sure how my 2 yo PDD son would adjust and react to the strange environment and constant stimulation of being around the family 24-7. We agreed to go but only for part of the week.....
Well, I am excited to report that it was WONDERFUL. He did perfect. He ate at restaurants without tantrums, he sat through a 30 minute BORING planetarium show at the Meuseum of the Rockies without a squeak, he went on an 8 hour car ride around the Yellowstone National Park without crying once, he walked around the crowds at Old Faithful and was mindful to stay within 10 feet of mommy and daddy, tolerated without complaint being strapped in a front carrier and taken on a 2 mile/2 hour hike through the Lewis & Clark Caverns, and slept like a baby in a strange place.
Even though the vacation was a HUGE success, we decided to end it on a positive note and came home early.
The vacation has taught me two lessons: One, I should never underestimate the abilities of my son; and two, I should never not try something because I think that it will be two hard for him.
