grant is going to have a ct scan | Autism PDD

Share

We are finally going to be getting a cat scan done on Grant THis next Monday August 1st.  He is going to hve to be put to sleep in order for them to do it.  Even though I know what is all involved in the ct scan, I am still a little bit nervous about it.

I also am having to find a new pediatrician again.  We just switched pediatricians just a little over a month ago now and now the pediatrician we switched to is not going to be taking medical coupons anymore.

Big day Monday!!!  My Riley is going for an upper GI Monday too, my other son (NT) will be seeing a Hematologist the same day for an as yet unknown problem.

I'll say a prayer for Grant and his procedure...say a prayer for mine too and we'll all make it through it together!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!  Let us know how things go.

Yes I will say a prayer for you too.  I know that grant will do fine being put to sleep for the ct scan because he has had to be put to sleep for 3 previous surguries but it still always makes me worry.  I will keep you in my prayers and I will let you all know how things go on Monday.Well Grant got his ct scan done today and suprisingly to me he did not have to be put to sleep for it.  They wanted to try him without sedating him first and they let him hold onto his baby tad and wrapped him like a burrito in the jacket thing that they use.  I held his hand and one of the technicians that was there to help hold him held him down and let him look at this little red light that they had.  He cried a little but did very well.  I won't know any results for 48 hours so until then it is a waiting game.  I bought him one of his favorite things to eat which I hardly ever get when we were all done  (pop tarts)  he just loves them.Glad it went well!  Yummy pop tarts!  Good luck!

So glad to hear it went well Janine...it's so hard having to wait for these things, much less go through them to wait some more for results!!  I'm glad to hear he did well though...it can be so scary for the little ones too!  I'm glad you posted, I did think about you both today.  I wish you good luck with the results.

Riley had his Upper GI today too.  Didn't go as well as we'd hoped...I've been prepping him for 5 days because he was going to have to drink barium....well that just didn't fly.  They ended up putting the tube down his nose/throat  and using a syringe to inject it into his stomach.  He screamed bloody murder almost the whole time, at least until just after they pulled the tube.  And he absolutely freaked out when they started moving the table under him (from standing to laying).  As we suspected ... everything is fine there ... I hate "rule-out" tests.  Can't wait till there's a way to diagnose what he's got...kids shouldn't have to go through all this BS!

His older brother (nt) had to see a hematologist today too...won't know those results for a few weeks....but he did much better than last time.

Tough day...I need a nap.

Im so glad Grants and Rileys testing for today is over! Hope you moms get some well deserved rest! Keep us posted on results and how things go from here! I am sorry to hear that Rileys test was so difficult.  I am glad that it is over though.  I just do not like having to wait for results.  After we got home from Grants ct scan  today, he had one more pop tart and ended up taking a 3 hour nap.  I guess everything just wore him out.
