Rice vs Potato Milk | Autism PDD

Any reason to choose one of these over the other for a milk substitute?

Not much as far as I know.

We couldn't do potato milk because all the brands we saw had soy protein in them and ds is allergic to soy

So rice milk was the only option. The vanilla flavored one is quite good.

Accessibility and money would be a couple reasons.  Taste is another reason.

Taste and convenience.
My son likes both the Pacific Rice Low Fat Vanilla as well as the Dari-Free
original. I can get the Pacific Rice at a Natural Food Store nearby but the
Dari-Free is mail order.   For vacation I always take the DAri-Free as it is a
powder and more convenient.Rice milk made me very sick...come to find out, it's processed with BARLEY malt!  Barley is a gluten-containing grain, along with wheat, oats, and rye.  They don't list it on the label, because it's not an ingredient in the milk itself.  I don't know whether your child is on a GF diet as well, but it's something to think about.Thanks--so does the potato milk taste better?  Harris Teeter has the rice milk (in liquid) but it is pricey!! per container/4cups!  I guess I need to order the powder online. Cin051639258.4856018519Sarah did the potato milk (no soy in it) it came in powder form so it was very convenent to take places, vacation and restaurants..she loved it:) Looked and tasted just like milk and fortified with the same calcium, vitamins and nutrients as milk. The whole name for the potato milk is Vance's Dari-Free. It is cheaper if you
order from other GFCF sites.(rather than the manufacturer) It does taste
good but you have to play with the consistancy. I get the rice milK for about
.89-.69 depending if the local health food market has a special or not. We just ordered the potato milk and yes, it costs more than rice, with shipping added. (I can't find it in any of the HFS here). The rice milk here is 1.59 a quart. The potato milk turns out to be about  a gallon if you add in shipping. BonBon39255.8645138889We got ours for about dollars for a quart of dry (cant remember how much it made with water??) at the local healthfood store here..we were  lucky because the owner not only has a son with autism but carries all the kirkman supplements and  has a huge range of GFCF products:)
