Hi, my name is Sonya & I'm the mother of two girls...Taylor 11 (soon to be 12)was born deaf & later diagnosed with Autism & mild CP & Jaedyn 8. Last year my mom who has been doing my after school care for the girls became sick and was no longer able to care for them, so since then I have had trouble finding anything for them...neither of there schools offer after school programs, I have no family that can handle Taylor, Arise: The program that Taylor's Service Coordinator is from can't find any reliable people that work out & I can't afford to pay for daycare programs or to have someone come to my house & the state programs say that I just miss the cutoff for recieving help...Does anyone know of any programs that provide care or of ones that offer financial help? Thank you, any advice is welcomed.
Maybe one of the other parents in your daughter's class can help out. Or if you just miss the cutoff maybe you can cut your hours down to stay with your daughter after school?
That's what I am already doing...leaving @ 2pm everyday...but the problem is I'm taking a huge pay cut and my boss is riding my butt about returning full time because I'm the site supervisor of our Infant house.I don't know???? Maybe it's a lost cause!!!
yes there is a ymca but my dd really needs a one on one & i haven't found any services to help me pay for a one on one yet... My director @ the daycare I work @ said I could even bring her to our school program if I could find a one on one & someway to pay for all this? Unfortnantly me being a single working mother I don't make enough to afford this but I also just miss the cut off's for any services??? It's very frustrating!!!
Is there a YMCA in your area? They usually offer after school care at a reasonable price.
Is there a YMCA in your area? They usually offer after school care at a reasonable price.Thankyou for answering anyways...I have tried a bunch of different groups and so has our service coordinator but so far nothing yet...
I am really sorry to not have any suggestions other than any local groups/
charities for any of your dd's conditions. Have you tried UCP or Easter Seals?
Hope you are able to find a good program.
