Hi I am new to this website so I hope I understood this forum correctly! I have a 6 yr old son who we think(and a hearing specialist and his pedi) possibly might have some part of Spectral Autism Disorder. We live in a small town and my pedi really cannot offer any help/advice as he has no skill in this field. Where do I go from here? I am looking for somewhere to take him that can diagnose and point me in the right direction, somewhere in northwest Wyoming or the Billings area of Montana. TIA!I think the only place in the ENTIRE STATE OF WYOMING is Casper to get diagnosis. WYoming is DEFINITELY a great state as far as waiver.
Hello, I have a son who is 8 now, he has PPD/mild autism. I am also from Wyoming...in the southwest. I am not sure if you are from this state, but I must say Wyoming is a great state as far as getting help for your child. If you are from Wyoming, the first place to go to is DFS, explain your childs needs and also would have the medical report with you. We have medicade for our son, and at first we were told that my husband made too much money, then when I went to find out, it has nothing to do with the parents income, it is the child. Also in Wyoming is the DDD...DFS will be able to get you in the right direction. Also here and around the state is NOWCAP services (and a few others). There are soo many resources here, but I can also tell you.....I have had to fight and stay on top and at times it's been he** and I have been made out to be a ........., but I have done sooo much for him and he has come sooo far and I am so proud of him. Also we do go for all testing and evals. @ Prim. Childrens Hospital in SLC, UT. there is a doctor there by the name of Julian Smith. I hope that this info. helps you.
Sincerely,

OG i'm so happy to see this post. We are wanting to move back to Wyoming and are trying to see what therapy services are available for Trace. Do you have much trouble getting him into speech and OT? That's what Trace needs the most.
