Any Miracles lately?? | Autism PDD

Cindy, I attribute it to treating her body. The shots were big. The diet works. EFA's are key, as are enzymes and probiotics. Prescription meds to kill yeast overgrowth and bacteria. LiverLife and NDFPlus are great. We did some chelation but backed off after she didn't tolerate so well. The NDFPlus is a chelator, using herbs instead of meds. It seems to be working to keep the good stuff going on, while getting rid of the side effects that RX chelator had.

She attends ST twice week, OT twice a week, started summer school last Weds, four hours a day. She went to her first year of special ed preschool from Aug of last year until March of this year when she got pulled out early. She received ST there but only 1/2 hour, group.

We have a big family so someone is always trying to engage her and talk with her.

And I serve a big God.

Hi! We had a "miracle" when we started DMG. We had a vocab of one word only! After 10 days on DMG he said 22 words! He shocked all of his therapists! We have seen good results over a period of time with other supps but DMG was the very best one that we saw instant results! Though I know of others that have not seen any results with DMG. The only negative that we saw was that he was a bit hyper the first couple of weeks and he completely quit taking naps. The no naos was a bit to get used to but he did start going to be every night at 8:00 like clockwork!  :)

Hope this helps!

I have never seen any miracles. PERIOD. The only thing that has been shown to have CONSISTENT results is education.  When my son was younger (way before DAN!) I tried two biomedical interventions.  DMG and Secretin infusions.  Both had the very same result. Both made my son SUPER HYPER for about a month.  Clearly, they both had an effect. But not a positive one.

If there WERE "miracles," they'd be plastered all over the headlines.  For all the millions of people who are trying the alternative approaches, I don't see a single headline.

Hello,
I am a mom of a 4 years old ASD son and we have been using MB12 Shots for about 2 months now. My son just said his first word yesterday and it was a major suprise to us all. (You questioning yourself Did I hear corectly did he say that??) He did say that.

I am thinking of putting him on DMG and NU-THERA any insight on that.

Thank U
Evita
when does a doctor recommend the b 12 shots ? whats the purpose?

good news, Tammy!

Will you please tell us about your family? I love big families

So, congratulations to you and that one miraculous word.

Hi, I have been working with Autistc people since 1979. I had seen Resperdol turn an always unhappy, tense until he became aggressive. Sever SIB and biting of staff. But I loved him. I was his special worker and worked with him from age 19-42. I have watched many autistic people that I have worked with  here for the last 27 years,{with 3 periods of time gone} been helped by Risperadol more so than any other drug.
Less aggression and SIB. Less compulsions. Deal with change in schedule better.
But more important, a better quality of life. More eye contact. More appropriate laughing. A happier person.
Of course the quality of the residence is always the most important. I  have had the luck of being part of the 1st Autistic adults. And I have seen a core 12 peple from their teenage years until now they are closing in on  50. Loving caretakers is the most important thing in an autistic person's life.

Hi Evita,  Welcome to the board- from GREECE!!! (my mother was born in Crete)  Nice quote from Plato.

I bet it did feel like a miracle when your child spoke for the first time- Congratulations!!!

Our son might be a good candidate for B12 shots (per our DAN! test results)- we are still looking into it.

Thanks for sharing your success.

We do 35 hours 1:1 ABA a week and we have been doing this for over three
years. Can not say enough about ABA.
We do speech therapy 1:1 two days a week and we have been doing this for
over three years.
We have been on a GFCF diet for almost 2yrs
We started the mb12 last year and I have to say that we did see very positive
results with it.
I am not a push over and I research everything pretty diligently. I have a
good Dan that works with me. I have friends that do the same and I have
friends who would never try the GFCF diet.
I think we all want to build consensus but that is not possible. I personally
think there are no miracle cures out there but a lot of different options
where interventions are concerned. what are b12 shots for and in what they help?

Dr. Neubrander is the innovator of "Methyl B12 shots" now being used successfully to improve the symptoms of many autistic children. Dr. Neubrander's innovation of adding B12, a critical vitamin, subcutaneously (in a small shot) has allowed the vitamin to contribute to the methylation cycle of autistic children. B12, a critical "methyl donor", is very difficult for children to inject through their often-damaged guts. For more information on Methyl B12 and specific details around the appropriate protocol to follow, visit: www.drneubrander.com.

Here is a recent thread on B12 shots:

Well, I think my daughter saying 3-4 word sentences after losing all speech for a long time is a miracle.

I think the fact that she likes her siblings and seeks them out to play with her is a miracle.

I think the fact that she asks me for hugs is a miracle.

The fact that she graduated from physical therapy and can run as fast and furious as any other three year old is a miracle.

The fact that she can listen and obey better than  alot of typical three year olds is a miracle.

The fact that she looks into my eyes when I speak to her is a miracle.

Looking at things and pointing to them and then looking at me to see if I like the same thing and can see it as well, is a miracle.

knowing her numbers 1-10 in both english and spanish is a miracle.

Knowing 80 percent of her letters is a miracle.

Asking Jesus to heal her boo-boos is a miracle.

Asking for help is a miracle.

All this without much education and without much ABA therapy.

Wow. I just encouraged myself.

Whats the total cost in dollars?

Doctors visit + travel + your time + drug costs + any therapy + did we intervene soon enough? + waiting = less child development? (as we did)

cause thats what we were told to do. waiting costs your child! I know even though ours is responding very well (almost as a normal kid) .

Did You here the story about chemical being studied in alberto canada so far its works on most cancers! The but is drug companies cant make any dollars off this. Why you ask? this is not patentable. you can get it at any chemical store for cents not dollars! When saving lives was supposed to be in that Hippocratic oath what happened?

They really do have us bamboozled! it is all spin! it has always been spin! and always be spin!

Like hillary she over saw the health care insurance issue while bill was in office didn't she (where did that get us)?

Gotta pipe in on this. The only MIRACLE would be to have our ASD kids be NEUROTYPICAL, and aside from the miraculous healing touch of God, it is not gonna happen - sorry! I am too educated, well versed and well read - and in 25 years have NEVER seen ONE person who TRULY had autism ever be 'cured'. Search the web - there are over 1000 (YES, ONE THOUSAND!) supposed ''cures'' for autism!

I think we need to take each step of progress as a celebration, and each backward step as a challenge -

I think we need to pray and love and love and pray -

I think we need to stop searching for miracle cures and be the best parents we can be - and ACCEPT our children as disabled, which they are -

but know they are still children, and still capable of love and emotion and feelings and A FUTURE -

albeit different than what we hoped for....

God's word says ALL people are made in the image of God, so we have to know God loves our children, and that is what he wants us to do - to LOVE -

whether it means holding on or letting go -

LOVE.
