I'm sorry to hear that Tammy.....when quinn gets an idea in his head about something he wants to do  it can be soo hard. i hope today is goin better for you

Well the pca took the kids to the park and the beach.  Of course Jeffrey is not happy because he didn't see his landmarks.  So now he is in mini meltdown mode because he wants to see it.  Lets see so far I have......

1.  Compromised  Told him we would do it tomorrow.  First he agreed then he changed his mind.

2.  Ignore it.  That semi works, semi doesn't.

3.  Can't physically restrain him or you know who would complain again.

4.  Redirection.  I suggested printed out pictures of the landmarks or even making some out of cardboard.  He doesn't want to do that.

So after all this today I figure just calmly tell him we are not doing that and if he gets loud so be it.

Heavy sigh!!!

I  am  so with you!     It gets exhausting after awhile when nothing can seem to get their minds off of something!    Jacob had a melt down at the pool today.    I'm not even sure what it was about.    My coworker and friend called me to come get him after I had just dropped him off  maybe 45 minutes earlier.     This woman is also a teacher and this year will be working in a spec ed program.     I  thought.....boy!   if she can't handle this.....she is in for a rough time!     I'm sure glad my son's teachers have learned to handle his behaviours better!!

I don't often drop my kids off at the pool without staying with them but once in awhile I need to get some yard work done.......I don't get much done running back and forth to the pool!

The same woman took Jacob and his younger brother to the movie tonight.     She said it went well.     I had forwarned her about Jacob's behaviors at movies....he disappeared to the bathroom and she found him in the lobby using the phone to call home.    I hope the experience helps her understand other kids with spec needs a bit better....at  least what she can expect.
